shyts look trashFor now we're still okay. Lots of dope AAA games to come in the next 12 months. But yeah, the mid-sized publisher is being phased out. In five years, it'll probably be
EA
Activison
Ubisoft
Bethesda
Warner Bros
Square Enix
Take Two
Namco
Blizzard
Valve
Konami looks like it's finished. Capcom is probably gonna get weaker or get bought out. Take Two I can see being bought out my Actvision or some shyt.
Warner Bros, I like em, hope they stick around. It's good having a powerful movie studio on the games industry. I hope Disney tries stepping into the game again.

then you have to worry about fx, voice acting, animating, programming, etc.

to another threadWhy are y'all acting as if AAA games are easy to build as an indie developer
Do you know the time and skill it takes just to make the character and environmentthen you have to worry about fx, voice acting, animating, programming, etc.
Its much easier to start off in the 2d platforming/mobile game lane for start ups
I'm not saying its out of the realm of possibility, just that it's extremely difficult. Take it from someone trying to get into the gaming industry.True but I think the issue is that these Indie dudes are digging their heels into the 2D/nostalgia market and not even making incremental progress towards evolution. I've seen some AMAZING non gaming programming and animation done by one person, I'm sure a team of four of five talented individuals can move Indie production into the realm of 3D, consistently and provide QUALITY content.
Id like to see more 3d games from indies with ps/xbox/gamecube esque graphics. I can still play those type of games with those level of graphics if the art style is done right, which to me indies have art style in spades compared to the boring AAA market these days.I'm not saying its out of the realm of possibility, just that it's extremely difficult. Its best, if you're trying to kick start your own company, to start off with 2D and mobile games (maybe even board games) in order to get your company to grow and then dap your foot into 3D games.

That new banjo-kazooie spirtual successor platformer with the dumb name (yokae-lyalee or something?) from former rare employees looks awesome.
I miss 3d platformers![]()

That they could probably pull off
I wanted to say the hardest part is finding people who can character design, level design, prop design, weapon design, and programmer but won't break the budget. But that could be because I'm a designer![]()
