Both great albums but Infamous has stood the test of time . Dogg food gets a little repetitive

that dr dre 2001/eminem/etc stuff was more crossover/TRL type, as opposed to what really was going on in the streets/clubs/parties in that era. i know that statement is gonna fall on death ears with coli hermits, but whatever. 2001 sold more but it was NOT the chronic.

they had some cuts tho like "next episode".

Lets not be mistaken. 2001 definitely changed the sound of hip hop. As much as any record. GRODT. All SCott Storch production. All that shyt for the worse

GRODT was years later, and as huge as that album was, it was never THE popular sound. it was more about 50 cent and the g-unit movement.

the most popular sounds back then were soul samples and crunk music.

scott storch's run of hits moreso reflects what he prolly picked up from timbaland as opposed to dr dre and the others that storch came up under.

I don’t believe Dogg Food is a Top 5 West Coast album. Not at all. Lol. And Infamous is better because it’s more consistent. Simple as that. And it established the blossoming of a new legendary emcee and producer. It had a creative and unique sound that wasn’t like anything before it.

I have my reasons for liking Dogg pound more, the production i find is more versatile and better, you can find yourself riding to it, to having it as headphone music, etc. Which ties into the rapping that helps shape it like that whch i find better than Infamous espescially by Kurupt.
