Doggy Style was sonically amazing and cohesive. And Snoop sounded fresh as hell. I'm not too mad at this comparison. The Chronic is up there too matter of fact.

I think the comparison is rarely ever made because the themes of the two albums are a universe apart

Bullshyt!! Neither are better than Enter the 36 or Cuban Link. Doggy style isn’t better than the Chronic or Nation of Millions. Then we have Long live the Kane, which basically ruined Kane’s career because he could never replicate anything close to it again. And many more. But I love these 2 albums.

36 Chambers and Cuban Link are both top 10 albums...The Infamous in there too

Notice the theme.
To be considered a top album outside the east, you have to do big numbers.
To be a "classic" from the east, you can do poorly, just as long as the east coast bias media gets behind you to help paint a fictitious picture of what your album means.

You will never see an album from outside the east, from the mid nineties, that gets classic credits UNLESS it killed it at retail. But them east coasters have a rubber stamp at classic status.
