Dollar Stores in America have become the fastest growing food chains. One woman showed what you can buy on a 70$ budget. Is this sustainable?

2- 3 days?? Green apples, oranges, and grapefruit last 4 to 6 weeks in the fridge. Bananas last a week. Peaches and Kiwi about a week. Berries can frozen and last months. Vegetables can be frozen and last months.

Some of y'all don't eat fruit or vegetables otherwise you'd know this.:hubie:

A month to a month and a half? That's a long ass time. Ain't no way it's been a month and your like "lemme get this old ass grapefruit, been waiting for this!"

It might just be me, because when I buy shyt, especially fruit, if I buy 8 apples I know the day in which all 8 will be gone. I don't buy shyt and just hope to eat it at some point or think "well, maybe I'll want it". I have my shyt planned out in advanced.

Nah, its the front end not the back end. pause

Its when i get to the store and realize i don't have any quarters on me so i can't use a grocery cart.

3d print an Aldi key, or buy one.
Keep it in the car or on a keychain.

I eat fruit and vegetables everyday. Most days I’m eating at least one avocado and some garlic. I use shallots/onions, olives, tomatoes, bell peppers a lot too. Strawberries, bananas, and apples probably the fruits I eat most besides avocados.

This probably averages out to around $2.50-$3.00 a day, so around $75-$100 per month.

It would be a little less if I used frozen fruits/veggies but I just buy everything fresh. Which brings me to the next and probably most important point. If you eat a lot of fruits and veggies, you need to buy them daily so you don’t overbuy because fresh fruits and veggies are extremely perishable

dollar stores are terrible. not only is most of the food low quality, but they also charge you more per oz than someplace like walmart even.

if you can buy in bulk at costco or walmart, that's a better move honestly, cuz the dollar store is giving you death by a thousand cuts with their small containers and high cost per ounce.

I do like aldi. they have plenty of fresh fruits/vegetables for a reasonable price.
