I get it but when you look at the actual price vs quantity it doesn't make sense. The same $1.25 is getting you less for the same portion when compared to stores like Walmart. You're spending MORE shopping at Dollar Tree for food items

you can buy regular shyt at whole foods dumbass, they sell the same brands as any other grocery store

I was just at the Food 4 Less on Slauson in LA and Green Seedless Grapes were 2.49 a pound. They are 2.77 a pound at Whole Foods.

Breh, whole foods isn't everywhere like that. Not a single one within 3 hours of me.
And we are discussing impoverish people who likely live in communities without large chain grocers outside of walmart or dollar stores

I went to an aldi recently. Didn't like it. Was a small store about the size of a dollar tree. They seemed to nickel and dime, charging you for a grocery cart, charging you for grocery bags. Had a limited selection of products, And the prices didn't seem all that much cheaper in spite of it.

You get your quarter back when you return the kart so you don't leave it in the parking lot. It's not a one stop shop, but I've found there chicken to be fine. They also have imported Italian pasta, which is better than Barillatype brands.

Yeah, but i don't carry change on me. its not the 1980s. I have apple pay. So it means i don't get to use a grocery cart.
WHo carries quarters any more anyway? Vending machines cost like two bucks. Carwashes cost like ten now. arcades are extinct. Toll fees are super expensive too.

And when you correct for portion sizes and quality the dollar store is actually more expensive than a discount grocery store like Aldi.

Dollar store is low key a scam outside of certain items

this is the thing folks don't realize. u go into dollar tree and buy a little thing of detergent when the per oz cost is far higher than a regular store selling a large container of detergent.

I've always gotten candy and snacks at the dollar store instead of grocery stores or CVS/Walgreens/etc. Whenever I need some Hot Tamales or pretzels I'm there lol.

I usually just get batteries, Glasses and cleaning products.
I don't really see a reason to pay 3 to 5 dollars for bleach at other stores, when you can get it for $1.25 at dollar tree. bleach is bleach
also toothbrushes. i don't need a fancy toothbrush. a 5 pack for 1.25 is better deal than you will find outside of dollar tree.
