no it's not sustainable it's unchecked capitalism
they killed the notion of self reliance to build dependence. and people have no actual idea how to have food security anymore. humans lived thru most of our history without buying everything we depend on and doing a lot of the labor and skilled work we needed on a day to day by ourselves.
now we are just mass consuming useless fools. break the mold
due to the convenience of modern life we have become unwilling and unable to reclaim the independence of self sustained living methods. people still tryna figure out ways to buy better, shop better.
take back some control. even in cities there are co-operative farming spaces. you can try trading and growing with others. find that network. opt out of the convenience and take back some control. you would be surprised of the resources people ignore. i can get most things cheap except meat and boxed goods within the city
They aren't much but can be expensive and a waste of money, especially if you're not the type of person to eat and use fresh fruit and veggies within a week. Sometimes grocery stores are selling “fresh” produce that's already close to expiring, just hasn't visibly shown yet until it leaves the grocery store and sits in your kitchen for a good 12-24 hours.
I recommend buying frozen fruit and veggies, even canned because of the fact they both last longer and are cheaper, plus you can stock up on these items.
i go to market stands and buy stuff that i use within 2 days for a fraction of what it cost in the large stores. i'm not stocking and sitting on vegetables and fruits like that. you can cut costs by 60% by being calculated alone on where you are shopping. but that convenience is why people go to the one big grocer.
