This thread makes think of Remy and Pap

I don't think anyone has claimed it on either side but you know damn well nobody can claim domestic abuse in that relationship cuz they both look like they'd be fighting and Remy might've won a couple times.

I know they definitely have come to blows. NYC couples be on that time.

I don't think it's truly mutual in relationships. I think there is an abuser. A lot of times, the "victim" is provacative tho. Been thru it with women, family and roommates myself.

IMHO, it's almost always one sided because one person is clearly stronger.

Haven’t seen many dv relationships in adulthood, thankfully. Just one really and it was mutual combat, cops arrested both of them. They’re doing better now, I think that arrest was a wake up call. The kids saw them fighting and the whole street too. I know the embarrassment is enough to keep them straight for now.

With heterosexual couples, its mostly one sided. Lesbian couples, about 66% one sided.
Yeah man, I was staying in an Airbnb for about six weeks because my lease was up and my home wasn’t ready to close yet. It was one of those setups where I rented the basement, and there was a couple staying upstairs.

Turns out it was two women,.. i think one was travel nurse or something. This was during peak COVID times, so tensions were probably high all around. But yo… they used to get into it bad. And I mean, it wasn’t just arguing, straight scrapping

I really tried to stay out of it, but one time it sounded like the butch started getting the upper hand, and was not letting up so I called the cops smh

On the day they left, they knocked on my door and give me a bunch of food and snacks since they couldn’t take it on the plane.

The feminine one was a baddie. Hopefully they are treating each other well or moved on from one another

Honestly the few I’ve known of were one sided. I had a homie who’s gf would punch on him and spit in his face in front of all of us. We all went to HS together, and he actually cheated on his gf with her then left for her. I had a gf that would punch on me thinking I won’t defend myself since she’s a willing liar, and she eventually tried to stab me for breaking up with her. I asked for help from the coli after being acquitted since she lied to the cops about it but yall laughed at me instead.

I’ve seen plenty of women who are willing to fight their men and will lie about it if they fight back.

I have two relatives that have been in domestic violence situations..

One was more mortal kombat but in certain instances it was one-sided with the woman being the aggressor and in other situations the man being the aggressor ( I never saw this in person.. just only heard about it)

In the other situation, it was one-sided because the guy got upset about the relative possibly (but never confirmed) talking to someone else. In those cases, I saw the man pull out a gun on her, trash her house, yoke her up etc… the police were never called in that situation and she did nothing. I know this because I witnessed it.

*ETA I’ve actually seen another possible DV incident when a friend of a relatives boyfriend broke into my relatives house looking for his GF and my relative to possibly beat her up too.. he also had a gun in his hand. I remember running in the room and hiding in the closet. Would that be considered DV even though he didn’t find who he was looking for?

So I guess it depends on how each person responds to the situation.

Personally, I don’t believe in being violent over a disagreement in a relationship… we can just go our separate ways.
