That was the theme. It wasn’t really xenophobic. It was more so “they aren’t our problem”. “The haitian solution is in Haiti” which is correct. The solution to Haitian stability is in Haiti
To some degree I think the perception of dominicans personally hating Haitians is a bit drummed up. When i was on the island and whenever I talk to people from there i never sense any hate whatsoever and saw many friendly interactions as well in both business and non business settings. Soon as I landed we went to haitian barbers in SD and we all drank together etc. I know it's just anecdotal but still

All of them (in the picture) have Haitian parents?This isn’t purely about economics. I want to make that clear. This is about representation. Right now you have two generations of Haitians living in the Dominican Republic, can’t speak kreyol, never visited Haiti, have Haitian parents, but will identify solely as Dominican if asked.
I kind of saw this coming especially with the recent Olympic team. Ppl here were outraged

Their economy would collapse if they didnt have access to cheap labor and the Haitian market to export their low-quality agriculture.
Dominicans do alot of talking and flexing but the numbers don't lie.
