"Yank" from Miami here, obviously I grew up around both groups, from FOBs all the way to 2nd/3rd generations, forgive me if I'm overstepping
I got nothing but love for Zoes and as far as I can remember, I've never had anyexperiences with Dominicans, Black or mestizo
But I have heard Haitian-American friends tell me about Dominicans flipping out or acting all passive aggressive when they find out they're talking to a Haitian more times than I can count but it's clearly bigger than that
But identity? Is it a racial thing? An assimilation thing? I saw Black Dominicans protesting too
In my experience Haitians are more willing to learn other languages compared to other people
and I've met Zoes who speak Spanish just like a Dominican would I hope there isn't gonna be a parsley massacre again
