Donald Sterling just dropped GEMS on white supremacy. Basically said blacks have no community

I give you daps for your nicely thought out response but I think if you care to listen to Tariq Nasheed newest podcast he speaks on people that have your mindset regarding the few blacks that make it having to help every other black mentality. I think that's something we gotta get out of. I truly believe if you doing things and have something to add productive or viable somebody will be ready to look out when they have a chance to see it. Otherwise we are doing the equivalent of a bum asking you and me to give them money because we have more than them and most and kicking their money down like that but want to tell others what they should do. Again thanks for the reply

I agree. what about the bigger picture of having black owned businesses. Im not just saying give them money.....im saying give them a better opportunity to succeed.

Hardships?

You mean flying all over the country, staying at 5 star hotels, groupies lining up to fukk you, playing the game of basketball, and getting paid millions of dollars hardships?

:stopitslime:

You're missing the point of his post over semantics, breh :ld:

I definitely agree we can use more black businesses and as far as the opportunity to succeed I agree with that too. I just think we need to do certain things we have control over to help our kids/future kids like waiting to have them until you can put them in a better position to succeed. Just that can help alot but if you already have them expose them to success that isn't from entertainment and also show them many different things so they can maybe stumble into something they love at a young age.

Black people look out for other blacks all the time. I'm getting tired of the demographic of black men and women who grew up around non-blacks speaking on something when they have no idea what they are talking about.

Shouldn't matter, we're all ******s to Sterling. Having that kind of differentiation within the race is why black people ain't going to progress anytime soon. Can't comment on things if they didn't grow up around black people, but branded as c00ns if they don't help defend :childplease:

So?

Having that kind of differentiation within the race is why black people ain't going to progress anytime soon.

What differentiation? And Blacks have been making progress, no race or culture as gotten further faster then Black Americans.

Can't comment on things if they didn't grow up around black people, but branded as c00ns if they don't help defend :childplease:

What can a black person say about black culture and/or people if they didn't grow up in or around it? Parroting what you saw/heard/read from a second or third hand is not a legitimized opinion, and therefore shouldn't be accepted as such.

"Branded as c00ns if they don't help defend?" No, they are c00ns because they are c00ns in every sense of the term. What help can a c00n provide to my people? Who asked for help from a c00n?

Case in point: This very forum consists of mostly white/hispanic/asian hip-hop enthusiasts, yet here they are giving their ill-informed opinions on my culture as if they are apart of it.

So this is what this thread was regarding

What can a black person say about black culture and/or people if they didn't grow up in or around it? Parroting what you saw/heard/read from a second or third hand is not a legitimized opinion, and therefore shouldn't be accepted as such.

You asked what differentiation but you've demonstrated it there, a black person cannot speak on black culture unless they have grown up around black people as a majority? I flat out disagree with that kinda bs. it's what causes divides within the race making aiding one another less apparent, due to where you grew up? fukk that. i'm not a black american and we don't really have that aspect here (England). You're black then you're black, knowing culture and history is up to the individual to pursue and gain knowledge about both from experience and information.

So this is what this thread was regarding

But you quoted me, and my comment had nothing to do with the thread topic. Therefore how can you fall back on the thread topic as an excuse. I said "so" because how David Stern feels doesn't affect me, what I said, or my people.

You asked what differentiation but you've demonstrated it there,

No I did not. A c00n is not a part of my culture so there is no differentiation to be made.

a black person cannot speak on black culture unless they have grown up around black people as a majority?

Of course. A black person is encouraged to embrace who they are and their culture, no matter the class, location, or environment in which they come from. However, speaking on social issues beyond a spectators point of view, is doing a disservice to the culture. Especially if that discussion is taking place among people that are not your own. Being honest with who you are as an individual, and taking responsibility for your own unique experiences is key.

Maybe-- just maybe-- your experiences are predicated on living around non-blacks? Maybe you aren't getting a job because you're asking white people for one? Did you ever think of that?

For example: Someone said earlier in this thread that blacks don't help other blacks. How the fukk would you know that? Especially when it most likely is coming out of the mouth of someone that isn't even black to begin with.

I flat out disagree with that kinda bs. it's what causes divides within the race making aiding one another less apparent, due to where you grew up?

Read what I said earlier, and no it doesn't.

i'm not a black american and we don't really have that aspect here (England). You're black then you're black, knowing culture and history is up to the individual to pursue and gain knowledge about both from experience and information.

Ok.

Heed Breed.
I haven't read up , but are you guys buying that Starbucks is for the urban people ? I have prolly seen three blacks work at Starbucks in over 30 Starbucks up and down cali. I've never seen a black group in Starbucks , always uppity asainas or whites. I thought he should of went in more detail on how he helps the community , seems like he gave a quick three things and kept it moving . Avoided it ?
