The inflation this country has right now is because of Trump. In his first term he inherited a strong economy from Obama. Trump then initiated giant tax cuts for the wealthy. That tax cut put more money in the hands of people which meant more spending. More spending meant prices went up. That is the issue. The more money that is available the more inflation that will occur. When the economy is strong you raise the taxes not cut them. When inflation is high you raise the interest rate not cut it. Powell is practicing sound fiscal policies. Trump is a very dumb man.

I understand. I would like to see rates lowered too, but Powell can't do that because Trump’s tariffs will cause more inflation and a rate cut would kill the economy.

We are in a lot of trouble in this country. I knew that the economy would implode under stupid Trump policies, but there is a worse problem waiting on this country because the consumers have already stopped spending and ignorant Trump policies are making the problem worse by putting tariffs on stuff. Forget recession. This country is lined up for a depression and the bond market is still looking shaky.
