Budget Explainer: How Much Do Americans Pay in Federal Taxes?

2014_tax_explainer_chart1-crop.gif

Let me know if u need an explanation of what a quintile is

But basically everyone making less than $40K on average is getting money back instead of paying income taxes. Everyone making between $40-60K is only paying about 3%.

Thats why you spend money :dwillhuh:

I have NEVER seen a good post by you pertaining to economics :pachaha:
That's why WHO spends money? :dahell:

And lol @ a dude who cosigns Donald Trump's vague "we are already doing that breh" economic plans talking about what is or isn't good economics

Do you understand the concept of PERCENTAGE of income? :dahell:
Yes

Most people making less than 40K pay a negative percentage of their income in taxes. IOW they get money back, through stuff like child deductions etc.

Are you really this dumb? :dahell:
Ah I get it, this is you pretending the point you are trying to make is obvious when you actually have no idea what you are talking about. I remember this

I hear you, but there's always a danger in paying attention to silly season polling. Now when Iowa comes around in February, we'll see what's really good

Agreed. Trump is just benefitting from early season primaries, and wacky iowa/new hampshire polls. No one outside of the base is really scrutinizing the candidates yet. These polls have made non-candidates like Rick Perry, Michelle Bachmann, and Herman Cain look viable, and its clear that most of Trump's appeal centers on how much of a kick the public is getting out of his "fukkery". I was just responding to Politer's question. There are millions who support Trump's candidacy. Some are in this very thread!

True shyt. Plus, as I had an elections professor tell me once, no one gives a shyt until the month before they're supposed to vote, sometimes the day before they're supposed to vote

Can u speak in full sentences?

And where have I promoted austerity?

Can you spell correctly?

He will pay for these programs with expansions from the economy...... glossing over the fact that growth here is :trash: and pretty much anywhere you look globally- China, Russia, Western Europe, South America- are ranging from being in slowdowns to full on freefall

Meaningless austerity talk

Too bad his social and foreign policy sucks :beli:

I do like his Syria policy however :sas1:
you like his syria policy you say?

hmmmmmm. he said let the russians knock out isis. which means they will also prop up assad in the process.

america doesnt want assad there. neither do most syrians.

one reason the US aint feeling assad is because he's allowed terrorist groups to hang out and chill in syria and launch shady attacks from their. among other reasons.

So no, sorry, i dont like trumps plan.

dumb starting point austerity proponents always bring up

the IMF already came clean that the US could spend endlessly.
Lol dumbass this isn't "pro austerity" thinking its common sense. Just because we have cheap debt doesnt mean we have a blank check. Not to mention I would be weary of taking debt advice from the IMF given how many countries they've bankrupted
