I don't support all the cuts for the rich but there are progressive ideas here.
He's stanning the economic policies of the same person who a couple years ago wrote that corporate taxes should be eliminated and the top income bracket cut to 15%

well the way i understand it, if we are going by what trump said in his speech today, i believe he is lowering the rates because he is also getting rid of the deductions. right now i bet you a lot of them are already paying well below 25%.
but hey i'm no expert. i just watch the news.
Yes, there are progressive ideas within it. Overall though it would be much more regressive. Just because he has some rhetoric calling out hedge funds, would expand the tax free bracket, and supports universal health care doesn't mean the rest of his economics aren't anything more than catering to the rich and right wing.You actually believe this

even if the current rate is 40%, if everyone just exploits the loopholes and pays well under it, what's the difference? these guys spend millions on lawyers and accountants just so they could find ways to pay less and less taxes. and under the current system they are allowed to.
lowering the rate to 25% might sound like a huge cut, but if there's a guarantee that they're all paying it... isn't that an improvement?

More regressive != regressive. Again look at the chart I posted.... can't get more progressive than negative income tax rates for the bottom 40% of the population. There is such a thing as too progressive a tax curve and I think we have entered that realm.
People actually falling for what Trump is saying. American's are as dumb as other country's portray them. I will never support this loon. It's cute, funny and entertaining to watch him talk crazy, but people can't be serious about Trump.

you would cap exemptions on the rich is essentially what he's saying. still you can adjust your gross income.
