I’m not a huge baseball fan or anything but I’m definitely enjoying these World Series.
Serious questions:
1. Is Darvish normally a good pitcher?
2. Was it somehow ‘mandatory’ or unavoidable (due to injuries) to start him again after how he pitched the previous game he started?
He really dropped the ball before and I was surprised to see him on the mound in the most important game of the year..
If this was a choice, it would be fair to say this was as much the manager’s fault as the player’s fault..
Darvish was nasty one point in time, but injuries have plagued his career. It wasn't mandatory, but I absolutely don't blame Roberts for going with Darvish -- he had a good outing versus the Cubs, but has fallen apart in the world series. You can blame the manager, but you got to also look at the player. How the fukk you combine to go under four innings in two games as a starter?
Like I said, Roberts should've just had him on a short leash, but he was desperate to get outs to save a bullpen that has been overworked.
