Unless thigpen returns a Return for a TD today or tomorrow (forgot)...I think they keep him
Are you saying Daniel Thomas is going to potentially replace Thigpen returning kicks?:what:

staff thinks too highly of Thigpen, hes not an impact returner and isnt close to the WR Mathews is. i want to keep Rishard and Damien Williams, cut Thig

word is they are shopping Rishard, but its the NFL you get nothing or next to it half the time. id rather keep him

No, him and Daniel are fighting for a spot on the roster, if thigpen can prove he can hit the home run, they'll keep him, lazor likes him. Otherwise, I think henney will keep Thomas, cut thigpen and insert Landry as the returner

I can see us keeping Williams on the practice squad if no one picks him up...I only think we should keep Daniel this year..he's cheap, it's the NFl you never know about injuries...worst comes to worst, Thomas can be plugged in to start for a few games.

If Miller's pass blocking has improved and Moreno is healthy I don't see why we'd keep Thomas

Nah man. Richard is that dude. My favorite receiver on the team right now. Dude is like a poor man's Brandon Marshall out there. Physical and has speed

Barry Jackson threw it out there, I doubt it hes a 7th round guy with limited production so far. his greatest value is to the team that found him and can put him in spread sets, I want to keep him barring some amazing offer like a 3rd rounder which wont happen

I don't like Thomas either, but you have to have 3 backs that know your blitz pickups. Moreno is an injury waiting to happen and Miller has a major hip injury in his past, theres really not much out there that was the only missing piece of the draft :yeshrug:

Walt Aikens switched to S (got my wish) and had a nice camp, looks like a lock to be in the mix. Don Jones is not a very good player, he might be out when Reshad gets back. Jimmy Wilson and Aikens gives us the ability to put some nice coverage back there in dime or quarter situations. dudes tape looked good on draft day could possibly make a run for starting FS next year

Jordy Tripp looks like a lock @ 2nd team MLB. I liked that pick, waiting to see if Jelani Jenkins pushes the OLB's if they don't produce

Former Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland moved up 17 spots to select Daniel Thomas in the second round of the 2011 draft. Thomas has done next to nothing since (averaging about 3.6 yards per carry each of his first three seasons).

With Knowshon Moreno and Lamar Miller atop the depth chart, and Ireland no longer around to support Thomas, he may not make the final cut this weekend.

"Damien Williams, the rookie out of Oklahoma, is doing his best to claim [the final RB job]. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry against the Cowboys on Saturday and also was effective in the return game," wrote Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald.

"In years past, anything close to a tie would go to the second-round pick on pedigree alone.

"But it’s a new world in South Florida, and these other Ireland selections would do well to make a strong closing argument against the Rams [in the preseason finale]."

Tonight's tilt with the Rams may be the last time we see Thomas in a Fins uniform:

Three Dolphins on the roster bubble"Thomas has underachieved since being a second-round pick in 2011. A primary reason he lasted three seasons in Miami was due to his lofty draft status and connection to former general manager Jeff Ireland. But Thomas doesn’t have those ties to new general manager Dennis Hickey. Thomas must produce and that hasn’t been the case this summer. Thomas’ hamstring injury sidelined him most of training camp and all of the preseason. Thomas plans to play Thursday and this could be his final chance to impress Miami’s new front office. Rookie running backs Damien Williams and Orleans Darkwa have played well in Thomas’ absence."
