Taking race out of it (though, there are a lot of black folks rocking with dude as well), a lot of men support Trump because they see stuff like this happening every day and are a bit sick of it. Now I'm not saying that I excuse his racist supporters, but not everything they say is crazy.

The point is, the people who were supposed to fight for your reparations wanted nothing to do with it out of cowardice.

That's a much larger issue, to me, than what Trump is doing.

It means there is no bulwark to protect you and yours, even those that look like you and claim to share in your values are not willing to fight for what is best for you.

What I understood him to mean--in the context of the conversation (cutting a trillion in waste, fraud, and abuse) and based off of Trump reading a list of inefficiencies in social security a few days prior-- the fraud and waste inside these programs is wrong.

The way he said it wasn't perfect, but I didn't take it to mean, "we need to completely get rid of these programs because they are just wrong."

But that's not true. I believe most people who voted for Trump are looking for this policy.

They believe that shipping out cheap labor and taxing imports helps American industry and labor.

Whether that's true or not is up for discussion.

ATC didn’t “walk of the job”.. that’s spin by some United CEO I believe

They were already short staffed, had a small plane accident and then this radar/comms issue that has been going on for awhile and 5-6 of them took “trauma/sick leave”

I’ve heard some rumor and stories about that place and I really don’t understand how they are doing it over there. I’m a certified ATC at a high level facility and you couldn’t pay me enough to go there. Absolutely not.

Their staffing has been essentially cut in half, half of their trainees aren’t close to being done certified, I heard they’re having an entire DAYS of 6 controllers, including on the mid. That’s insane.

For context we routinely have 18-20 on shift per day, and if starts to fall below that we call in OT

Nah this EWR stuff is different. It is probably the most unsafe situation in the NAS, simply due to staffing and equipment issues in a high level facility

I’ve heard they essentially combined to 2-3 scopes out of 9.. they simply don’t have the people to work it, and combined with equipment and frequency issues.

These dudes gotta be working 2+ hour stints with limited breaks

I don't work for the ATC Union, neither do you. There is an ATC in here (@jaydawg08). I trust his thoughts and opinions on these issues as that is his world.

I said air is the safest form of transpo and planes will continue to land safely at Newark and surrounding airports. I also said the commentator was using fear to get views, similar to how the "news" had you fearing another attack after 9/11 and the London rail bombings.

It appears they've been chronically understaffed for years and through various administration's. Sounds like the same is true of the industry in general.

But again, 1000-1200 commercial flights landed yesterday without incident.
