ATC didn’t “walk of the job”.. that’s spin by some United CEO I believe
They were already short staffed, had a small plane accident and then this radar/comms issue that has been going on for awhile and 5-6 of them took “trauma/sick leave”
I’ve heard some rumor and stories about that place and I really don’t understand how they are doing it over there. I’m a certified ATC at a high level facility and you couldn’t pay me enough to go there. Absolutely not.
Their staffing has been essentially cut in half, half of their trainees aren’t close to being done certified, I heard they’re having an entire DAYS of 6 controllers, including on the mid. That’s insane.
For context we routinely have 18-20 on shift per day, and if starts to fall below that we call in OT
