Thread title accurate af now and was 10 years ago...

Lost my SS card, made appointment online, times fukked up and disjointed as hell, needed to bring birth certificate and paperwork, waited 60 minutes past my appointment time cause... man IDK and IDC. Once I sat down with someone, got it taken care of right away.

I remember when I had to get my SS card replaced because it has been through hell. It was funny as all hell when I used to go to doctor's appointments and asked for my SS. I pull it out and they go .

That varies depending on what state you were born in since the federal government doesn't handle that. Some states you can do it online I believe.

I lost my wallet once and freaked out for 24 hours because my license AND SS Card were in it. Somebody found it and returned it to me the next day. I keep the SS card in a small safe now

I have no idea where my SS card is. Haven’t seen it in well over a decade. See no reason to replace it. Is there any reason I’d ever need it? I have a passport, so I never use it for employment.

I lost mine. Just applied for another online. Found the old one. Got the new 1 too

Similar thing happened to me.....except it was $60 that I thought I lost over the weekend. I went to the bank ATM to get another $60. Later that day, I found the original $60 in my jeans pocket that I wore the previous day (that little half-front-pocket on the right)
