That triple double was on a prime Jason Kidd :ohlawd:

Dude would have been a star.. with that J and his handle, speed. It was right when the game was opening up more for guards too.
Hell yeah. People who say he would have been a bust are just looking at the numbers and the fact that he came from Duke. But that boy was the truth on the court with one of the best jumpers ever for a point guard. And while he struggled his first year, he had to learn the triangel that they were still running for some reason, if im not mistaken. But the signs were there that he was gonna be a good one. Deron Williams struggled too his first year and he turned out ok. At least till the past two years.

Though a lot of Duke players don't pan out in the NBA, Jason Williams would have been a star and would have led the Bulls out of the doldrums even sooner. With that jumper and that dribble the sky was the limit for him. He struggled his rookie season, but he still had some spectacular moments. I remember him dropping a monster triple double on someone that just showed what was soon to come. He definitely would have fit in even better in this era of shoot first point guards.

yea, he started getting his chit off towards the end of the season.

he'll tell you himself that he played badly until the last couple months or so.

corn ball ass dude.... u could tell dude lived inside of a bubble all the way from his duke days...

ole "hey guys u be safe out there, i'm just going to stay in and catch up on some re-runs of seinfeild, if melissa asks u guys about me tonight tell her I said leave me alone" ass nikka

lol. jay williams is cool but yea, im not surprised that the nba was a culture shock to him, especially the nba back then.

kinda reminds me of eric gordon's annonymous snitching on some of his hoosier teammates when he left indiana.

Great read, I thought I was reading a good book.

I never really knew the details of the story. I wanted to see a pic of his leg, now. That uneven leg thing reminds me of T-Mac--who has a leg longer than the other.

We're entirely too tough on athletes.

:weirdo:

Reminds me of that Kanye West skit . Funny, cuz; I'm a square, too.

Momma, NO!

what kanye skit?

it happens to people with bad knees/joints.

its about the fluid in the joints or changing when the barometric pressure in the air dips (which lead to rain). Usually older people with arthritis have those issues. Williams is 32 year old.

yea. my pop's had some type of thumb injury back in the day. he can usually tell when its about to rain because his thumb often twitches a lil bit. he explained this to me when i was a youngn and he was still in his 20s. so i know a serious leg injury is prolly a big deal to a 32 year old when the air pressure changes.

I didn't like the pick then and after reading this I like the pick even less. But to be fair that draft class was pretty weak. Carlos Boozer probably has had one of the best careers of anybody taken that year and he was a second rounder. He was certainly the best Duke player taken that year.

whats wierd is that this thread was made just hours before they did a piece on him on that "ACC Kings Of The Court" show that came on the CW Network here before an ACC game on sunday.

they did a piece on him & kenny anderson(lol @ bobby crimmons forcing kenny anderson to go pro).

he said that when he was on the ground, his chest was burniing & he couldnt feel the bottom of his legs but the 1st thing he thought of was his career and he yelled out "I WASTED IT ALL" or something like that.

he also said that he feels blessed to be in the position hes in at espn. he knows he still has it good.
