na, just curious about what people thought. a few people were violently angered by the addon, others didn't say much
I just wonder how big of a problem the double posting was. I never ran across that many in the arcadium
I say force it on them...its better for the board in the long run (should keep it a little tighter I would think)It wasn't a major problem. I thought the addon only merged identical posts and therefore would basically be unnoticed.
The merging of back to back posts was kind of interestingI personally would rather read a single post, where someone either multiquotes or uses the edit button to add an additional thought rather than two separate posts. It's quicker to read a thread that way, far less scrolling. But I'm not sold of forcing that functionality.

I think the effect on reading, while positive, is outweighed by the negative of responding to a double post where half the post has nothing to do with the other half. For instance you quote liquid about one point and then me about another point, when I respond I have to include your response to liquid. It makes following a conversation been two posters a little harder.
I don't feel too strongly either way tho.![]()

You could always erase the part that doesn't apply to you.
I think the use of the multiquote is better myself as well, but the execution just seems to be bad.
