He sucked anyways.
76ers gameplan: EVERYBODY shoot bad jumpshots and DON'T play defense.
Saw this coming
Hes the worst
Collins is a good coach, your personnel is just fukking mediocre. Not to mention none of them have any heart.

shyt, he's definitely better than Brooks![]()
I think Doug is done coaching after this. They gave him a raw deal.
Given the situation, most coaches would be pissed off.
Nothing against Doug Collins but, my thing is whenever these geriatric veteran coaches come back to coach bottom feeder/fringe playoff teams that consist of young players that may not become anything more than fringe all stars... if ur the old head accepting the job (and you know you get emotional), its like how did you think things were gonna end?
Now if its a young coach starting out like indiana's or OKC's or Miami's, then yea it makes perfect sense b/c you need the experience and so going through a couple trash seasons and some retooling just comes with the territory. things rarely go according to plan and you may or may not be kept past it all, but its essentially resume building and gets you exposure.
But if ur in that doug collins, george karl, phil jackson, greg popovich age... nah, you should be eyeing fringe conference finalist type teams at worst, like with george karl in denver. You already put in the work back in the day, so unless you just really need that paycheck (or are desperate to get back into it),, you should really be chillin until you see a team with solid veterans and stars that are already in the loop.

If he were a better coach he'd last longer than 3 years coaching the same team.

What kind of stupid logic is that?
Your team is flat out mediocre. A bunch of short range, low basketball IQ players who aren't consistent outside shooters. Outside of Jrue, Nick Young tha gawd and Turner, there is nobody who can create their own shot, it's like a bunch of terrible Isolation players struggling to score. Even with motion and getting guys in spots they just can't score, and not to mention they suck dikk at stopping anybody consistently on defense.
There are plenty of average coaches that get by because their team is super talented i.e. Del Negro, Scottie Brooks, Erik Spoelstra
Collins is a great guy and a solid coach, but your team is just pathetic and has no heart.
The coach is there to motivate and manage people, your squad just can't execute on either end, and I take it after they realized Bynum wasn't going to play they completely quit on him this season like they pretty much did last year up until the end when they actually won some games against shytty teams.
I hope Collins gets another shot somewhere else.
I don't know how you think Brooks is an average coach. He has to get some credit for getting that young team to the Finals, plus turning prospects like Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka into All-Stars (and defensive aces in the case of Ibaka). And lol at Spoelstra being an average coach.
Collins signed Kwame Brown and resigned Spencer Hawes with the designation of making them the starting frontcourt (before they got Bynum). I shyt you not; he actually said this in public, AND restated it once it was clear that Bynum wouldn't start the season.
Collins' big flaw is creating an offense around long twos, the most inefficient shot in the game. There are plays designed to get guys like Hawes, Allen, and Turner 18 foot jumpers. They're on pace to set a record for lowest FT attempts for a season. It took him 50 games to give the only big man that can score inside (beside Thad), Arnett Moultrie, serious minutes. He's averse to giving young players like Moultrie, Vucevic, and Lavoy Allen minutes, while handing Hawes, who's been inferior to all three of those guys, 30+ minutes a night. He might be a good coach, but he's not the right one for this team and he's gotta go.
If they fire him then Philly is truly full of musical fans.
He did get a bad deal in Philly this year considering in hindsight they gave away Iguodala (an all star) and two really good young players in vucevic and harkless for literally nothing
