I'm really feeling this thread. I read Powernomics and Black Labor, White Wealth several years ago as a youngster...just cuz I was looking for someone to break the game down. Ever since reading that first chapter of Powernomics, I knew this dude was legit.
I love how he explains racism for what it really is. Its not prejudice, its not bigotry and its not disliking someone. Its a power relationship where one race can dominate and orchestrate the existence of another group to their benefit and comfort. Man, that sh#t ran so true for me even at 21! Because I knew we weren't just dealing with prejudice, we were dealing with something much more strategic and cunning.
One thing though, is this thread has challenged me to get involved in a local organization. At times, I casually looked into different groups like 100 Black Men, UNIA, etc. But I never took it too seriously as I didn't want to get involved in something that was about lip service. But at the end of the day, the community needs people who care and understand the issues to be involved at some level...no matter what. And I can't standy by without doing my part if I know better. Not to mention, some of these groups really are trying to make a difference.
Last thing, its great that we're all supporting this man and his message in this thread. But let's not forget that he also heads the only think tank dedicated to the black cause and condition in this country, The Harvest Institute. And he needs our support, emotional AND financial, in order to be able to continue the fight. I would urge everyone who has listened to his speeches and believes in his mission to donate to his organization. I Know I Will.

Has anyone made progress in any of the shyt they've been working on? Had to fall back end of last year, but I'm trying to get shyt back popping. Laziness is bytch brehs

1. The new site for my group is gonna be launching soon. Already got the layout, I'm buying the domain and hosting today
2. Working on some stuff for another organization trying to build a black owned/operated market in Atlanta. Gonna call the breh and finish working on some of the details
3. IT classes will be popping off real soon. I'd say next 30-60 days. I wanna finish the lesson plans and start looking for a place in the hood to host classes. I heard that you can use public schools for free as a meeting spot, so I'll probably do that.
4. Bout to start next company, launching in the next week. Was doing interviews this weekend for a position, and it's funny reading some of the email responses. One dude actually throw in there he was a white male like he knew that was gonna get him the job :cacpls:
With that said, let's keep each other accountable. One thing I've always hated is people seem to do mad talking but very little doing. Let's get to work breh's

I know breh...I've got some things entertainment wise I'm working on with my Aunt & Cousin. Got some homework to do but I've been lazy about it as well. We gonna try and meet up next week & brain storm.
