dude went to Maryland and started that business while Detroit is filing for Bankruptcy. Hope that fish business blows up & he can keep hiring black brehs to run it.

Black people need a contingency plan for racism they'll encounter because it seems there is a contingency plan when we start to progress, so that either your not allowed to do something or if you do it will be eventually taken over(BET).

Good video, but watching videos like this always make me depressed...I wish it were that easy for us to all just come together

IMO, the problem is 3 fold. The 1st problem is there's a generation gap between the younger generation and the older generation. The older generation came from the era where marching and speeches was how cats got shyt done. My generation (and the one after mine now that I'm approaching status) really don't give 2 fukks about a speech.

In the group I belong to, the elders don't wanna let go of the rains and let the new generation cook, which leads to frustration and people just saying "fukk it, I'll just do me." Personally though, I'm on some get down or lay down type shyt. All the old heads gon have to move the fukk on out the way, and let the young bucks carry the movement

The other problem is a lack of effective leadership. Everyone ain't self motivated or visionary. So if the leadership don't have the skills/talent to effectively delegate and get shyt done, very little will be accomplished. Having people who are the heads of these groups not being able to manage their soldiers causes problems. Again with the group I belong to, we're right by 4 HBCU's in Atlanta with about 25k students each year coming and going, and not a damn thing is being done to reach out to em. The elders don't seem like they want to take input, or don't have the balls to tell the soldiers to get to work.

Last is a lot of these nikkas are just full of talk. The "conscious community" is filled with a bunch of weed heads and dusty nikkas who'd rather sit around and have a smart dumb nikka debate about white devils, chem trails, Moorish history, and Kemet instead of actually getting off their ass and doing something productive.

Either way, I'm bum rushing nikkas. I ain't gon let these old heads stop me from doing what I feel I need to do

Nah, you're missing the point. Whatever group you proclaim yourself to be apart of, you will always be judged by the stereotype of that group. Thinking of oneself as 'belonging' to a race or creed is one of the biggest thrusts behind the phenomenon that is racism. If you're gonna identify with anyone, do it on the basis of character traits, not physical traits or one shared belief. Malcolm learned this lesson the hard way, let's not let his struggle be in vain breh.

I'd advise you to read powernomics. Dr. Anderson specifically discusses the need for ethno-aggregation (black people surrounding themselves with other black people). As an African, you're not hated or discriminated against because of you're religion, political ideology, country of origin, gender, or sexual identity. You're descrimintated against because you're black. When the group no longer aligns themselves by race, the power of that group becomes splintered. There's 50 million Africans in this country, and so many of us categorize ourselves by everything except for our race.

Y'all thinking too much in this 'us' and 'them' shyt. There is no 'us'. Denzel doesn't give a fukk about you 'cause you're black breh. Neither does Jay. Neither does Barack. They care about individuals who can further their goals, their money, their movie career, their business, their administration. You have nothing in common with them. Their white colleagues are closer to them than you are. White people don't give a fukk about other white people breh. They just care about their own personal interests. You're clinging on to policies from the past and you're using the racist remnants of that past to paint a picture of it that only reinstates it. Race is just a few shared genes breh. No different than sharing a gene with other tall, sick or bald people. I don't give a fukk who I share some genes with. That's some lottery shyt. What can we do for each other? How much can I trust your character?

We have hundreds of years of history in this country that proves that white people have 0 desire to do anything for black people. You also have hundreds of years of history in this country showing that white people have shown nothing but hatred and disdain for black people. In 2013, you can say it's no longer about race, but my question is when did white supremacy stop being our enemy? It was our enemy during colinialsm, slavery, reconstruction, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights movement, and the black power movement. At what point did white supremacy no longer began to oppress Africans in this country?

Yea. Made me realize that they (whites) really wanted ( and some still do, subconsciously) this to be a homogeneous nation like japan or china, and it somewhat IS like that. Everything mainstream is white. Commercials, movies, tv, etc all white. If they really believed in all this melting pot, there is no race because we all are american. Then why not portray that?

I feel you breh but I'm a grown ass black man. Let me tell you exactly what I've done and will continue to do.
I own and operate a very successful business in Charlotte and have hired black and mentored black people (I have two CACs on staff though). I've helped other black people start their own businesses and become independent. On a personal and business level I seek out people from my community first to spend money with. I'm a member of 100 Black Men of Charlotte and I school and mentor these younger brothers.

I'm a child of Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, W.E.B Dubois and their philosophy is the blueprint that I live my life by because those brothers had it right since back in the day.
I'm reasonably free and independent from the CAC since he doesn't sign my check. I'm all about black empowerment and black nationalism. I don't give a fukk about assimilating or integrating with the CAC. I'm married to a black woman that feels exactly the same why as I do and practices the same shyt that I practice.

That's my small part in advancing the black cause.
