Has anyone made progress in any of the shyt they've been working on? Had to fall back end of last year, but I'm trying to get shyt back popping. Laziness is bytch brehs

With that said:

1. The new site for my group is gonna be launching soon. Already got the layout, I'm buying the domain and hosting today
2. Working on some stuff for another organization trying to build a black owned/operated market in Atlanta. Gonna call the breh and finish working on some of the details
3. IT classes will be popping off real soon. I'd say next 30-60 days. I wanna finish the lesson plans and start looking for a place in the hood to host classes. I heard that you can use public schools for free as a meeting spot, so I'll probably do that.
4. Bout to start next company, launching in the next week. Was doing interviews this weekend for a position, and it's funny reading some of the email responses. One dude actually throw in there he was a white male like he knew that was gonna get him the job :cacpls:

Breh I've been soldiering on man. We're about to partner with local organization to provide free substance abuse treatment and counseling to the community. I've (my company) also set up a partnership with Johnson C Smith University (HBCU) to provide internship and mentoring to their students looking to get into the counseling field.

I've also recently hired a new employee.

My wife and I are both agnostics but we joined a local church that has a lot of influence in the community and we're teaching and helping people to create and manage their own businesses. I'm just basically doing my small part in trying to carry out my vision. Being a part of a large and influential church has made it a lot easier to get the shyt done that I want to do. It's also helps that there are no c00ns, CACs, Uncle Toms, or bytch nikkas in my surroundings.

This Claud Anderson has been a big influence on me. I can't thank @iLLaV3 enough for putting me on to him. It's some life changing shyt.
I'm going to talk to the pastor about trying to book Claud Anderson for a speaking engagement.

Why actually join the church though?? I (we) have considered this.. I don't think I can do it. It seems like too much fukkery to be around. Plus it seems like I would be hypocritical. Maybe it's easy for you because you have a wife n family.

Breh I had to hold my nose and join a church. There is a lot of fukkery but that was the only way I can think of to physically reach the people that I wanted to and to influence them. There are a lot of broken people in churches man.
I've been at the church since last August and surprisingly it has been a very positive experience. You're right, having a wife and kid makes it a lot easier but I don't take the experience too seriously. I'm just trying to make a little bit of difference in my world and I don't mind using the church as one of the vehicles to do it. The other being my company.

yea, as long as you stay focused on why you there I don't see a problem with it. I think these are the best ways to do it too. Use the institutions that we have i.e. churches & HBCU's plus...these people are more open because they are actually trying to do positive as well

I really want these classes to pop off, then I wanna take it on the road and open up centers around the country. Claude Anderson really laid the blueprint out for us man. I was reading the philosophy and opinions of Garvey and he was saying the same shyt Anderson was: black people need industries. I'm gonna try my hardest to make IT a black industry in my lifetime

One chick (she's a grant writing beast.. I wanna use her but I been smashing off n on... my boys are like SMH at me, cuz I mix bus n pleasure like an idiot) - has a nonprofit centered around health in the AA community n health homes, plus is about to pop off some shyt for young girls. Her ideas aren't IT - and Aren't about black boys, but still we can build.

my other boys mostly have mentorship programs of different types. only 1 does that full time w no regular job . 1 has a IT program like me.. like you. BUT I FEEL like the age group is too high. fukk that, by a certain age many are lost... so I like to focus on Middle School n Below.

Why did you have to ask about the black banks. You know we out here in these banks that profited off slavery

What's a good one to join ? I've been here people talk about it for years.... but don't know anyone who has opened one yet.

In regards to my own future.....I have come to realize that my little sister does not want to learn and its no hope trying to put someone in the right direction who does not want to learn.....even if it may sound "selfish" i might as well use this time i have been off for ages to study my ass off before I attend a 4 year school....so I get better grades and can become high paying in the engineering field and have less stress....

One thing that puzzles me about the Black banks is that they don't reinvest into opening branches in our communities. I just get the feeling we'd support own on IF they were more local & convenient. I'm always puzzled as to why anybody, especially Black folk, would bank with Bank of America. They have to be the worst big bank out there.

Good to hear that folks are making moves, strength begins with numbers. I'm going to be chopping it up soon with a VP of the local NAACP branch about what I can help do with the community. January is National Mentoring Month & I'm sure a lot of black folk never knew that. I also encourage the folks on here to get involved with various black associations & groups, you will find more like minded people.

Another thing that puzzles me is the Black mega churches. They get millions just to feed the luxury life of their respective pastors, foolish sheep - a lot of that money could have been reinvested in the community.
