i can't get into this album... i'm shocked at the amount of praise it's receiving.... there are definitely some keepers on here, but it is not on the level of work i'd expect from dre.....

"ayo dre, stick to beats by dre"....

still a great album to me as well, it just lacks the generational anthems like Still Dre, G Thang, etc. but thats an unfair expectation to live up to

THE PROBLEM IS THAT NO SINGLES OR VIDEOS WERE RELEASED FOR THIS ALBUM .. SO NOTHIN HAD A CHANCE TO REASONATE ON THAT LEVEL FROM THE GET-GO. THERE ARE SOME JOINTS THAT COULDA HIT BIG AS SINGLES, DRE JUS NEVER PUT NOTHIN OUT

Yeah, I think it's just he had a lot going on with the record. Like I said in that Stat Quo thread about the album, the album is just weird. It's hard to explain, it's all over the place. You can tell Dre was trying a lot different things with it, it's like gumbo.

Yeah, it's not so much that the sound ain't cohesive, it's just a lot going on throughout the record. I don't know, it's hard to explain.
