I respect that. Honestly, you have to be really "on" and in tune with the current sound in order to be able to create an album like The Chronic or 2001. Everything has to fall perfectly into place and I don't think that he had another one in him. I'm glad that Dre was smart enough to realize this and didn't have to embarrass himself.

If he didn't like it he didn't like it. :manny:

The man is proud of his perfection, I can't get mad at him.

But if that Pyrex/It's Alive track with Kendrick was on there, I need him to go ahead and drop that separately. Piff like that shouldn't get scratched.

I'm pretty sure it didn't take him 10 years to figure this out, it just took him that long to tell us it was dead. Considering he's putting a new album out in a week, it seems clear that he gave up on Detox a while ago. You know how meticulous he is with putting music out, so who knows how long he's been working on the new joint. I'm just shocked he was able to keep it a secret until now.

Dre also revealed why he never released his long-delayed Detox: "It just wasn't good." "This is something you're not gonna hear many artists say. The reason Detox didn't come out was because I didn't like it. It wasn't good," Dre admitted. "I'm gonna keep it all the way one-thousand with you, seriously. I worked my ass off on it, I don't think I did a good enough job, and I couldn't do that to my fans and I couldn't do that to myself, to be perfectly honest with you. I just wasn't feeling it."
