Really hope the album he's working on with Springsteen never sees the light of day

Ohhh so that’s where those Missionary throw aways came from

Perfectionism lend to procrastination because the basis is in pedestalling … pede”stalling”. He has concepts that he’ll never touch because he has them on such a pedestal that he won’t be able to meet his standards of perfection

Dr. Dre engages in

sacralizing the outcome
attaching identity and self-worth to the result
treating the goal as a verdict on the self

When the goal becomes sacred, action becomes dangerous

Hence perfectionist to procrastinist pipeline

I didn't like a lot of his beats in the mid-late 00s if I'm being honest...

Stiff drum programming with loud overly mixed snares. Yet the keys and instrumentation felt very minimalist.... It lacked the richness of his "2001" sound and I'm not surprised that he never committed to a full project at that time. I don't think time would be kind to it

There are some exceptions like the Obie Trice records, Relapse, some 50 stuff, Documentary but I much preferred the more melodic and interesting work on 2001, MMLP and Restless. He was dabbling in neo-soul back then...he was onto something creatively but pivoted after Em became a megastar and 50 popped off shortly after

He's still a legend with the GOAT catalog IMO

Even the leaks he had after for detox and other artists were dope. He did a beat for stat quo in 07 which wasn’t anything to write about and then 8 years later, UK rapper Giggs uses it for a single and it becomes a classic UK hip hop joint (talking the hardest). So indirectly he was still doing it

I like the Kush joint and a lot of the Compton so he was still doing crazy stuff

Edit: in terms of official releases yeah 2006 was still good for the Jay and Busta albums

:ohhh: :ohhh:
