Idk see how you can be black and see it any other way than this :stopitslime: This place is Reddit 2.0
I think what the Nets and league is trying to do is too much. Especially considering the very first Kyrie interview, he was pretty clear with his explanation…clearly stated he didn’t co-sign anything hateful in the documentary but stood on everybody being able to search for information (in this case something about black tribes from Israel).

With that said, sounds like Jay contradicted himself. If I’m not mistaken he said he’d love [for black people] to be able to do what the Jewish people are doing with Kyrie and hold ‘em accountable, make em go thru a process. But black people don’t have the power/networking infrastructure to do so.

So he doesn’t mind the process? Just minds that we can’t impose something similar?

He spoke from the perspective that a lot of us have. Black people don’t have the privilege of laying out any terms or demands. And at the same time, this particular process is excessive. I believe both points can be made.

Good take by him and this is exactly how a lot of black folks feel. But these white folks and non black folks know what they doing. They love to be hypocritical when it comes to black folks especially black folks with money.

Never ever forget how the white media and non black folks (and black boot lickers) treated the NBA players when Morey spoke out on China. They literally called on black athletes to explain why a white man made a comment. These racist fukkers were so mad at a white man that they punished black folks. shyt reminds me of the old saying how when the NCAA was mad at Notre Dame cheating they would put Middle Tennessee on probation.

Think about that for a moment. A white man causes issues and drama and they literally called black people to the table to explain the situation. They literally had black folks try to clean up a mess made by a white man. Not only that but the league protected Morey (by telling the media he would not be open for interviews) and instead wheeled black atheletes out there to address the media for Morey's actions. If that don't tell you how racist this world is when it comes to black folks nothing will.

shyt is wild how sick america and the world is when it comes to how they treat black folks.

So…Yea. Everything that’s happening to Kyrie is definitely overkill. Was it silly? Yes. Did they need to check him? Eh, maybe. Ok. But all this? Definitely overkill, definitely a shakedown.

Here’s the thing though: this is how the world works. This is how POWER works.

Communities, nations, etc that have power make these moves. It’s not about fairness. It’s about power and resources.

We can’t do these things when we are disrespected. Everyone knows that, and no one cares because OUR lack of power isn’t THEIR problem.

They are happy to show us how this thing REALLY works.

Nick Cannon acts a fool- show him nah, you’re not really a boss.

Kanye acts a fool, running around bragging that he’s a billionaire and can’t be touched- nah, you can be cut off

Kyrie following Kanye regarding the same issue that got him hemmed up- nah, we’ll pull you off the court.

This shyt is actually crazy.

Number 1 because brehs feel the need to suddenly talk about J3wish heritage in the mainstream :why:

Number 2 because the punishment is swift and severe.

The ONLY problem here is that Black folks (and Natives) are the only people who can’t dole out ANY level of punishment when we are disrespected. It seems like some Black folks are just realizing that we don’t really have any power:

We are depending on others to look at the situation and realize how unfair it is.

But what if they don’t? What if every other community just shrugs their shoulders? What will our actual recourse be?

Who’s going to financially back Kyrie if he never goes back to work? What industry is he going in, or community that has the ability to help him stand on his feet if he’s out of ball for good?

The truth is this is why all those Black men in media immediately spoke up and threw him under the bus. Because they know that if they stood up for him their money would stop, too. And then what? There’s no where to turn to make that money.

SO.

What is this community going to do to gain the same power as other communities? Because as it stands we can’t cancel or make demands of anyone. How does that change?

If Kyrie does anything and I mean ANYTHING, he'd be the biggest fakkit of all time. He marched on a hill he didn't have to die but he did so anyways and now he may concede? :pacspit:

And I mean this with all the content in the world. He saw what happened in the Kanye situation and seemed to either use no tactfulness on the situation or a man with diamond-hard convictions. Be a man and die on your principles. This is what he wanted, right?

He did violate nba rules. That’s why he suspended lol
Ime Udoka is suspended. He didnt violate NBA rules he violated Celtics rules. Kyrie isnt suspended by the NBA, hes suspended by the Nets organization. They have their own autonomy. Theres a difference between NBA suspension and team suspension. Kyrie was suspended by his team.

Conduct detrimental to the league. The nba would stepped in if the nets didn’t
They had ample time and had no intention of doing so. Silver had already said his piece. The league doesnt care about this. The Nets do because of the Jews in Brooklyn.
