This is a logical fallacy with nothing even imaginable to support it. King had a lot of critics in his own time, even some being black people. Difference is King actually had substance. Even in the times he failed, there was obvious movement towards that goal. Umar has been around for years now and he is still only at the "idea" part of this dream he is selling. MLK cheated on Coretta and it didn't diminish his legacy because his actions and the results from it just drown the noise about that out. Umar has nothing - no noteworthy achievement of that kind to stand on. Notice you keep talking about IDEAS but plenty of us have great IDEAS. And they are just that - IDEAS.

You're a fukking idiot. Not only are your premises flimsy but the conclusions don't even logically follow. The "microwave society" angle doesn't even apply to the Umar situation. People KNOW building a school and getting education done correctly takes time. Asking for a business plan to analyze the timeline and keep track of things isn't asking for instant gratification, it's asking for ACCOUNTABILITY. You know, the same thing you arm chair thinkers claim to understand. The Darren Wilson comparison just highlights your stupidity even further as white people donating to support him isn't even in the realm of what's going on with Umar. I don't think you understand why Umar is getting criticized, especially from people who actually work in the education field. At this point he is all talk and you sound like the guppy he's been eating off of to keep talking this long.

The only idiots I can think of are your moms for not swallowing and your pops for nutting in that bytch. You wanna argue, then argue, but miss me with that "your a fukkin idiot" shyt behind a keyboard. It wouldn't even cross your mind to say that shyt to me in person. Now since you've degraded the convo by poppin shyt you know you'd get your block knocked off for if you interacted with actual people.....what your fakkit ass is ignoring is even if Umar doesn't have a degree or will never open a school...........doesn't change the fact that american education IS miseducation for black ppl. There IS a school to prison pipeline. They DO misdiagnose children with ADHD. We DO live under a system of racism/white supremacy. Refute that. No no no let's keep looking for his degree. Let's stay on him bout dat school.

The donations that he's been asking for cover a lot more than just a building. For one he's looking to create a campus environment, with students and faculty living on the grounds. That costs money. He's trying to instill a curriculum that I've never heard any school having before including aviation, entrepeneurship, etc. That cost money. The material to teach said courses. The PROPER QUALIFIED instructors to teach said curriculum. They aint gonna come cheap. There are costs to maintain said campus the way he wants to see his vision come to life. Plumbing, electricity, repairs, renovations. All require money. But but all he gotta do is just buy a building like my friend did. That's your friends vision. Not his. The problem is this microwave society we live in. Everybody wanna see instant gratification on their investment. Darren Wilson became a millionaire on gofundme (allegedly for his legal defense) yet never went to trial. Are white ppl clamoring for their $ back and claiming they got hustled?

So tell me where's the scam? What did he get caught doing with the donation money?
4 million dollars isnt enough to do all of that.

Especially with aviation in the curriculum?
:dahell:

He playing people like yall who dont understand how the educational field and academia even works.

Yea ok :mjlol:

Yall corny dudes stay exposing yaselves. Look how animated you get feeling threatened off an insult most people would shrug off. Hoe nikkas adrenaline pump fast when that fear takes over.

I see you didn't actually address what I said and instead threw some rhetoric out there I didn't even argue about. Wonder where you learned that from :mjpls:

Are you answering my question? My question was 'where's the scam? what did he do?' And is anything he's saying about education and racism untrue? That has been my question throughout this thread.

Sure, I'll bite.

Quote me directly next time. What if I missed this "reply"?
You didn't and I knew you wouldn't so here's me quoting you directly so you don't think I'm sending subliminals. I'm hitting you on your direct line.

Instead of pretending "you see what kinda cat I am" based off 1 post, maybe you can address what word of his he's gone back on? Tell me what he's talked about that he hasn't been about.
Maybe you can address when I said he's gone back on any word. Maybe you can tell me when I said he hasn't talked about it and been about it.

As an aside, I picked a line out of your post that is used far too often as a "get out of accountability free" card when it comes to foolishness and the slightest criticism of actual and perceived foolishness. It's been quickly used before in defense of Umar possibly being fraudulent and I found it interesting that you threw the P word in your post. Hence my aside. If I misjudged you I retract my assumption.

Nobody's perfect has become a go to phrase to excuse and defend parents killing their children, pedos and rapists among others, so forgive me if it triggers this reaction :dahell: when I see it pop up.

Please don't come back talking about memes. Because clearly you've already confirmed the authenticity of the twitter, fb, and instagram pages these meme's have come from. Move on from that.
Move on from that? The entire premise of the thread is about the memes and how :flabbynsick: his meme game is. Showing the dissonance between the Umar Johnson people revere and how he comes off on social media. You brought all that extra in here.

And please don't come back with "wheres da school at doe?" when I already stated he hasnt raised enough funds to acquire the school he wants.
I won't as I haven't said anything about the school to begin with as I don't have sons to send to it whenever it hopefully materializes.

Nothing he's saying about education and racism is untrue but that is besides the point.

The point is when offering such grandiose claims and asking for donations of large sums of money...usually those people who donated want to see where their money is going. So that they can be assured their money is going in thw exact right place and they can have some peace of mind.

It costs alot to make a school. But you also have to deal with the board of education. You also have to register your school in various databases. You also have to hire people that will work for a yearly salary like faculty, principals, deans, teachers, admission, financial aid, cooks, janitors, etc. You also have to deal with dorm facilities and the construction of them. You also have to deal with keeping said facilities up to code so they dont get shut down for being uninhabitable. You also have to set up libraries that compliment the type of curriculum offered at said school with the right books and comb through them with a fine tooth in order to evade issues of eurocentrism within a supposedly pro-black pan africanist educational plan. You also have to think about cafeteria foods and meal plans. If this is a boarding school type of place...how many students will be enrolled in it? Will it be only for boys and girls? Whaf about the admissions process? How much will it be for students to attend this school? Will most of Umar's followers be able to afford it (judging by his demands...probably not)? Why hasnt there been infographs of construction layouts? Why hasnt there been a notification of what contractors and repair people will be working on this school? Will it be state funded? Privately funded? Will it be a Liberal Arts college? Will credits from whatever school transfer there? Classes like aviation would require millions more on their own cause i assume students will have to learn how to use planes and have access to planes and then they have to deal with local aviation services and airfields etc. And science? Technology? Engineering? What will the school curriculum of this school constitute?

But i can see you probably have a shortsighted view of what the educational field in America really requires so I'll stop there.

Cause there are even liberal arts colleges that have small enrollment rates 2,000 students and over and tuition is 32,000 a year and they have been forced to shut their doors. And many HBCUs are struggling...

I would appreciate it if Umar just said he didnt understand how much it would actually takw to build this school, went in over his head, and give said donations back to the donors.

4 million for that is peas and carrots.
what hes planning on would probably require upwards of 20 million.

Before I answer, I have a few questions for you.

Are you aware of the amount of money that he has raised for the "school"

Do you have an issue with him refusing to answer questions about the progress of the school?

Do you have an issue with him lashing out at black people who ask about the funding?

Do you have an issue with him comparing himself to Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X etc?

Have you viewed his Instagram page?
Bruh how u gonna answer one question with multiple questions. It's watev tho
Na I'm not aware of none of that. I really don't follow him on the Internet. One of my kids swore by him and basically made me go see him live. I heard about him on the coli so I was expecting bs. I was pretty impressed. Dude hit on some points that I don't hear any other black folks say. To me it's just good to see someone assume a position of leadership IN PERSON not hiding behind a laptop talking hella shyt in a safe place:sas2:Lord knows this generation needs something. Dude didn't even have no paper in front of him, straight off the top freestyle! Over 2 hours too
Don't care about the school, mine won't be going.
Outside of the minister, I don't see who else we got on Malcolm's or marcus level. But let's be real, there was plenty of black folks that hated Garvey and Malcolm when they was alive. They didn't become "all loved" until after they died.
I'm not invested in umar, I just like any positive leadership we got right now.
Does that answer your loaded questions :dame:

This is the problem with many of these new pro black visionaries the internet has produced.

They focus on emotion and idealism rather than logic and sound reasoning and they are not based in reality. And tbh i dont think many understand the complexities of business, economics, and general dealings with money ro even produce the results they desire. The moment you make an idea into a reality...something you can consume, see, taste, feel, hear, wear, watch, enjoy, you have made progress. If your ideas are still on a drawkng board...yiu have not.

Like @LV Koopa said Umar is at the idea stage still.

It reminds me of a thread i saw on here from some young 20 somethings about starting a new black wall street. It was still at the idea crowdfund stage. There seemed to be no real focus on it. It was not worth investing in.

Umar's donors are investors. What sound businessman tells his investors they trifling for having honest questions about the progress of this school and evades even answering them?:what:

Breh....the irony of the situation is just mind boggling. Tell black people they need to be more educated and when the ones that understand how business works at a basic level asks a question - shun them.

I still don't know what Dr.Umar is a Doctor of and where I can find his dissertation. His website has pics but nothing about a curriculum, what he is actually teaching the children, or how the different ideas will come together to form a learning environment. Just a GoFundMe link and a webpage that looks like it was designed in 2001 with .html pages.

But I'm the misinformed one :francis:

This is where my disappointment in many black visionairies come in and why i would never ask foe crowdfunding and even in my own business just put out product that can be bought or enjoyed or logged into or watched or heard etc...

You know how many times i see something made by a black entrepeneur or whatever...and its still at the crowd funding stage...the idea stage? Like moorus...i was ready to sign up until i realized that it was still in the idea stage and people were encouraged to donate to the gofundme.

Cant one black man or woman put their back into it and put out something that we can readily consume, enjoy, join, put our money towards? Thats actually finished?

Thats the type of thing that makes black people look bad and just unprofessional IMO.

It doesn't have to be a fully finished product depending on the scope of the project. Thing is even in the venture capital world investors demand something tangible to get the ball rolling. When you're dealing with something as complex and impacting as school you really need to have something, like a well tested curriculum and results showing how your education got students to where they wanted in life, that allows people with questions to make the initial leap.

What happened with Moorus? I never was interested but for it to work it really has to get "black Twitter" to switch over.

I used to give umar a pass even donated to his school

But in the same time umar has been raising funds

Here is a old friend of mine out of chicago who has built an elementary school and this year will be opening a high school

Here is his face book :

https://m.facebook.com/marcus.kline.9

He did it the right way, start small, work your way up.

Umar should be taking notes. But he has been advised to create the same scenario but he not adhering to any advice. I don't know why but it's starting to get pitiful. This last shot of falling back when you supposed to be on the job getting the doors open for a school is really bad.

You know Marcus Kline? :ohhh: I met him when he came down to South Florida at the house of kuumba. Real cool dude, he even bought some of the shirts from the grassroots movement I'm in. Him and Fred Hampton Sr. Is good friends, as for Umar he had his moments but his ego made him do a complete 180
