With the amount of money that's been spent on advertising there's no way this shyt gets shut down though...at least not for a while.

:damn: @ at all those bets in 1-day.

Dude probably looks like Artie Lange, sits around betting alll day & eating junk food.

No, He has a computer script do this for him. He's a professional. You have to think a little deeper. That's why people have no chance. People are writing algortithms to optimize lineups and uploading hundreds of lineups. Of course your average guy picking a few lineups while working a day job, barely watching any games, and studying rotoworld has no shot.

Are computer scripts bad for daily fantasy sports?

In this era I wish I was a computer programmer :mjcry:

I've got the statistics background if only I knew how to make algorithms with the hundreds of variables I'd be caking :bryan:

I've been trying to get more into statistics.

I took Stat 101/102 in college but I know I need a bit more. Been working on an NFL/NBA regression model for a while. Any advice?

As for programming......I've been thinking about taking this

interested to see this play out in the very short term, as it seems to get more nefarious everyday, with all the leagues backing what looks to be a complete criminal operation yet shunning legal/regulated sports betting as harmful to the integrity of the leagues. this will probably end up in regulation for the DFS industry under a skill based gaming outfit, which will allow poker/sports betting some very strong arguments in courtrooms and congress in terms of becoming nationally legal

I hope so...

Honestly if they ever make sports betting legal I may be worth it to just go a head and spend even more time on getting a model together. With all the money in the market from it being legalized I know guys like haralabob voulgaris are licking their chops. It would probably make it a lot easier to make money from.

Honestly I'm about to pull out my old textbooks. Probability & Statistics and Econometrics were good to a nikka. Need to be taking advantage of that knowledge. The good thing is a lot of what those courses teach is online too. I used a program called Stata in college about to play around with R since I heard it was free. I need to refresh my memory on a few things. I imagine attaching values to the variables being a bytch though.

I used JMP in college and actually pulled that out to put data in. I have a NFL & NBA model I've built in Excel in the meantime until I really learn re-learn everything. They're pretty good but they're really basic.

I have SPSS but I've never used it. Yeah I've definitely heard about Stata and R. I've been in the process of taking some online classes. Even went to a JMP seminar the other day.

I pulled out all my Stat books a while back.

I actually deposited $10 a couple weeks ago... Placed 20 out of like 4000 made $40 in baseball... I requested a check payout of $20,and they actually put it on my debit card which was cool.... Lost the other $20 promptly, would rather pay the -110 and have aa 50% shot...

I'm going to pull the numbers they've spent on advertising and get it to the board. Won't be surprised if they've reached $20 million or more since the start of the season

lol @ this thread.
yea, they need should have handled the situation a little better.
But yall are letting the media play with you.

This story went way out of control.

Besides...for the most part, if your bankroll isnt larger than $x,xxx you should be playing cash games to slowly make enough money where you can take a chance on these tournaments.

The DFS companies did a horrible job on marketing though....FD and DK may lose their spot as top dogs to someone else (yahoo?) who has a better grip on things.

This shyt set gambling back a ton...
...gambling should just be flat out legal...and it was probably close.

Oh well.
