Here let me explain how I think the insider trade part of this works:
No one on earth knows how the players will produce. The scam is, week to week, insiders know which combination of players have been played the least, which exponentially increases their odds of winning if they play those players. Normal folk plays against the odds of their players doing well + the different combinations of players played on that given day.

Insiders subtract one huge level of the odds which at minimum increases their likelihood of winning by 25-35% (conservatively) while wagering the same amount of money as everyone else.

shyt is fukking shady.

As far as the 91% of profits figure being paid to 1.3% of players, you have to keep in mind that fan duel has buyins as high as 10k , these high roller tourneys payout millions every week and the people entering those tourneys are the same people every single week. Secondly you will find that the same people in these highroller tourneys also play the smaller buy In tourneys but put in thousands of entries in ONE tournament. The gentleman that won the 350k is in that category. If you cant fathom how you can legitimately get to the 91% figure given the two facts(emphasis on the 1st one) I mentioned then you might as well pick up your torches and continue with the witch hunt.

That said I do strongly believe that there needs to be transparency. Banning employees from playing these games is a good start. The N.Y. AG will come out with a report in the near future and from there we will have more FACTS.

What Voulgaris is describing is not unlike playing poker, something else he has excelled at. Playing regular fantasy sports, at sites like ESPN.com, is like playing poker with your friends for a few bucks. Playing daily fantasy sports is like going to Vegas and sitting down at a poker table, where two or three of the other players are secretly pros, and thinking the game is going to be just like the one played in your coworker's basement.

It's not, and it won't be, and you are probably going to get fleeced.

Millionaire sports gambler explains why regular guys are getting fleeced playing daily fantasy sports

Sums up nicely what mane have been saying here.

I guess proper news wasn't enough for people to understand, and yahoo had to dumb it down with "millionaire gambler explains" lol...

good analogy
