I think regular ppl can hit it right on the head, sometimes. It has to, otherwise word of mouth would spread that nobody was winning and nobody would play.
No different than a casino needs ppl to win.
They prob saw how much you won tho and tweaked the system.
Its a scam in the way that people think they have a legit chance of winning big money when in fact they have similar chance of playing the lottery. Of course you can win but like you said its mostly luck based. Especially when you're up against hundreds of entries from the top players. If it was 1 entry per player its a different story. But thats where the "scam" portion lies

Yeah my buddy won't $1,000 two weeks ago doesn't mean it's not a scam. They have to show SOME normal people winning or people would be turned off from it.

no where near the odds of the lottery. only 400k entries in draftking big tournament and 250k in fan duels. Not great odds, but a lot better than the lottery. plus, someone has to win each week. not so of the lottery.
Casino is a more accurate comparison I suppose. The only ones making money are the pros and the 1% who hit the jackpot now and then. The other 99% are either losing, coming out even or win very little. The difference is the majority havent yet realized they're part of the 99% when it comes to DFS yet. People running it are eating good tho who can blame them

Like someone else said. They know this is a sham so they went full blitz with the advertising.
Build up as much hype and hysteria as fast as possible and make a ton of $$$ bc when the hammer drops it drops fast.
But I bet they've got everything covered and all these guys winning have their money in a safe place already.
