i made a strider. nice melee damage and you can sit back and kill stuff with the bow

i can one shot hobgoblins with a mighty bend headshot and one shot the tail off a saurian with it too

I roll with a warrior pawn as my main pawn then two mages where one has to have healing and fire buff

Everything is one hitting me, except the bats, which are two hitting me. I'm playing as mage btw.

I've only just started, level 6. But basically every enemy I've come across one shots me.

try to stay away from enemies, let your pawns do the fighting, your role as the mage is to keep them alive and healthy.

on hard mode, at that point in the game - yeah.

even on normal, you'll be getting chunked by a decent amount of enemies for a while if i remember right. as a mage? you shouldn't be anywhere remotely close to a fight starting the game off. like, if they LOOK at you, take off running. If you think they can smell you - sprint away

i hope your pawn is a warrior for your sake.

New game isnt balanced for hard mode. You get destroyed early on and level too quickly and the difficulty curve is fukked. Save it for new game+

Yeah I just stay way back and do whatever. Works ok. Have three pawns, all different types.

Yea, the game definitely ain't kind to warriors at the beginning. One thing working for me is the jumping slash, that tends to one hit kill bullshyt like bats and goblins.
