True I get your point. At the other end of the day even thought it's MTV, it's still a room full of black MTV employees voting on it, if you look at the list so far Em and Nicki are the only people to make it who aren't black males.

I rmb mtv had a list back in the early 2000s on the greatest mcs of all time and it was a very solid list i rmb they had honorable mentions for scarface, black thought and mos def ..

but yeah to me if i was mtv..no 1 would have to epitomize mainstream hip hop...his fanbase would not just encompass hip hop heads or white kids enfactuated with hip hop..and in my mind its pretty much macklemore..thrift shop is pretty much the gagnam style of the hip hop world and even thouh i dont fux with the heist because i cant even relate to it ( its all white people problems)
