That alone makes counting streams wildly inaccurate. I guess this is the part where one of you brain trusts says "well, why don't they sign to Apple?"....because it would lead to a monopoly.

Streaming just the wave nobody buys music no more same with TV nobody wants cable, nobody wants to buy DVDs. People want what they want, when they want it. So Billboard adapted the change people prefer to pay monthly subscription fees to access to everything instead just paying CDs one at a time hence why Drake is number 1 because he's the most steamed artist on Apple Music and Spotify plus the most listened to artist on Pardora. I don't think Tidal discloses it's streaming numbers. But it's just common sense why he's at the top. Times are changing pure sales don't mean as much no more

RIAA got "Views" at 2x plat and 1x plat is solely from "Hotline Bling" streams.

Imagine if "C3" era Wayne had every single or random song he dropped tabulated along with his album sales....dude would do "Thriller" numbers. I'm not saying let's go back to the way things were but single song streams shouldn't count towards album streams, for one. Alongside what I said about the difference between 13 million vs 3 million subscribers on Apple vs Tidal. Pac and Michael Jackson could come back to life and do an album together and they ain't gonna hit anywhere near what Drake did if they're on Tidal. It's mathematically impossible.

I think cats are taking any criticism of streaming as "let's make it how it was", which I'm not saying. But just because this is what they came up with, don't mean it's accurate.
