I actually agree. Drake did. Well at least thats what Drake brought to the table.

Lets face it, all the really big rap Icons were lyricist. Drake, if he keeps going will be looked at as an Icon by the future writers

wasn't a big fan of Gangstarr :umad:

Do you have any idea how retarded you sound?

"I don't like this guy, but I'm going to say he's a legend solely because he's giving props to an artist I dikk ride. Hopefully no one notices that I never mentioned him or Gangstarr prior to today".

Next time have enough sense to make a few "Gangstarr was awesome" threads beforehand so your ulterior motive isn't so obvious.

I can't really say that it was Drake, it was this whole new generation that Drake somewhat paved the way for.

In the 2004-08 days you had certain lyrical rappers of previous generations and the ones from that generation like Lloyd Banks & Lupe etc. But shyt was dwarfed by the amount of "non-lyrical" rap.

But in these "new school" days it's hard to become a relevant rapper (ie not a 1 hit wonder) if you lack lyrical skills.

he did not kill that, both came correct

:comeon:

Face it..your comment about post mixtape-50, Kanye and post-mixtape Wayne being "wack" lyrically is outlandish and ridiculous.

You just dismissed Carter 2..Late Registration..College Dropout and Get Rich..Massacre..:stfu:

Kanye has ghostwriters so that automatically disqualifies him from being considered lyrical in my eyes

Carter 2 was good but that was not even close to Wayne's peak of popularity

GRODT is very average lyrically, how can you argue that :shaq2:

Yep Kendrick would not crack 200k if he came out in the 50/Wayne era

Drake didnt bring back shiit..he spit some of worst and corniest verses on his debut album..now if you said his mixtape work... then :ehh:

He had a great second album and he DID step it up..ill give him that.

:stopitslime: 50 has never killed a feature in his life
50 was more like a gangster version of 2 Pac or whatever, not the verse killer type of dude. But he could drop dope ass songs.

But when you say this shyt, the only one I could think of was

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyEsiQib3Ho&feature=player_detailpage#t=151s]Eminem ft Obie Trice & 50 Cent - Love Me Lyrics 720p - YouTube[/ame]

And he's not lyrically killing it, it's just the swag and the smugness :flabbynsick:
