Barely.

Yeah, he had his regional shyt off of tumblr and small shows, but Drake solidified him.

Dude was talking about how ASAP seemed like a cool dude and he took him under his wing.

Again. Ya'll forget so quickly how this all went down.

Barley what? Why u think so many cats called Asap an industry plant, dude put out that mixtape and his videos on YouTube was doing millions, mixtape getting downloaded like crazy. That purple swag song got damn near 20 million views

I jus found a article where 40 talk about it too. So ya nikkas dont think im coming in here spitting ducktales :troll:

Noah '40' Shebib: Recording Drake's 'Headlines'

“Of course. We haven’t spoken to an A&R man, ever. No questions, nothing. The record company just said, ‘This is great, make it happen.’ It’s a mind-blowing situation, really, for us to step in and be in full control, and be able to put our own material out on the Internet the day after recording and mixing it.”

Its funny, I was interning at a record company in NY a minute ago. N they were talking about how Drake and 40 took home a HUGE amount of profit off Take Care. Cuz they practically did it themselves. All they really used the label for was mastering and promo.

The huge :mindblown: moment for me was when they showed me the tracklisting to take care and that there was only one beat that was done out of Drake's camp. Which means that Drizzy prolly pocketed majority of his profits, you know ya homeboys aint gonna charge you shyt for a beat, especially if you the one that put them on.

Son dont even need to pay for a engineer cuz 40 do that too :bryan: , trust me bruh that shyt aint happening anywhere else besides YM, Wayne a pretty cool boss.

you sound kinda worried my nikka :pachaha:

not a big drake fan but dude is outgrowing that whole situation IMO, if he does stay wayne should step back, go do your fake ass jimmy hendrix thing and let your artist get that money. wayne continuing to be in the spotlight with his current antics is going to hurt him and drake in the long run.

Worried?
Yall sitting around fantasizing about some sh*t thats never going to happen.Drake doesn't have any reason to leave. He's making good money. He's free to do whatever he wants. He's making good music that his fans are happy with. He's getting great promotion plus he's under contract so it's not like its his decision if he wants to leave or not that's up to his boss Lil Wayne the guy the put him on and the reason why most of yall even know of Drake. What makes me so mad is yall n*ggas some haters and yall want to clicks and groups that's doing good and running sh*t to depart so both ships can sink.If Drake is smart he better sit his a*s right there where he at because if he was to leave YM his run will be over with real quick.Look at what happened to Juve,B.G.,Turk when they left Cashmoney.Look at SQAD when they left Lil Wayne.Look at everybody that left the label they started with.

Weezy more of a superstar. And trendsetter.

He would be dumb to leave and u would expect him to be a lot less popular. His corniess will come out a lot more. Though that's hard to believe

You fools probably think Wayne allowing Drake to get a label deal is being disloyal .. its business .. I dont think Drake at this point would go to another label. He'd just restructure and become a boss like Wayne ...

Plus right now he doesn't chill with wayne like that anyway

YouTube videos aren't always enough to make it nowadays

Word to Cheef Keef.

But yall nikkas hit on the head. There's no reason for Drake to leave and become a "boss" for what. Thats one of the biggest problemd with the game now, everybody wanna be a "boss" but everybody doesnt know how to be a "boss". I mean look at it, how many rapper/artists turned "bosses" pan out anyways. Look at Jay and the headache he had to go through with Roc a Fella, look at Diddy and his constant reinventions and going through a new artist every other year. Now we got Jeezy and Gibbs. Not everybody is meant nor really cares for doing that shyt.

Look at other genres. I dont see Beyonce at the peak of her career trying to start her own sublabel promoting other artists neither a Mariah Carey, Madonna, The beatles or hell even the biggest pop star ever in the world Michael jackson. Rapppers need to focus on themselves and making the best musiv they can make fukk all that Boss shyt, shyt is getting whack and routine its like every rapper is supposed to have a sublabel or some shyt before their own careers even take off.

I agree but he'll probably start his label but stay with ymcmb. If he try to leav, Hopefully he got a good lawyer.
