He definitely got better with time. You can hear it in songs where he’s ACTUALLY spitting and not that commercial shyt like Underground Kings, Tuscan Leather, Weston Road Flows, etc. If he was spitting like that more often, and not that lethargic, uninspired sound like in Free Smoke or 10 Bands, I’d seriously put him ahead of Kendrick Lamar.

Rozay and Jeezy are good ones. If you throw Jay in there then I gotta throw Fab in there. Fab had always had bars but when that TINC tapes dropped, he’s been almost a whole different rapper ever since. He’s more aggressive with his shyt, not as laid back on the track nowadays.

Fab has to be the MVP of that, as far as a song writer goes. He has improved from just being the punchline rapper to being a complete artist. Before he couldn't write a song to save his life, Ghetto fabolous was just punchlines everywhere with some medicore production save for Pharrell giving him a hit song "holla back young'n". But as time progressed, he's a complete artist putting out hits and knowing when to do the underground songs. Still don't have a classic tho :russ:

It's not that Drake has "improved" he's always been nice when he wants to, it's just that he's the DEFINITION of TODAY'S SOUND and that can either make him or hurt him in the long run but if constantly finds ways to re-invent himself, then he'll have a prosperous career. I see him as the only artist of this era doing that actually. Everyone else will just be "oh remember when so and so was at his peak, what's he doing now??" type of rappers. :yeshrug:

He was good on RD but he leveled up something stupid when Vol 2 came around.

His last two releases were weak but "Both" is some of his best ever work (and remains the best hip hop track of 2017). KMT and Sneakin are also good.

So he's dropped decent stuff as of recent.

How you not mention Two Bird 1 Stone and 4pm in calabasses? shyt Do not disturb??

The other day, "Over" came on the radio and the shyt sounded terrible like it always did. Drake's whole flow improved in a major way :wow:

@thewiseman did you have a similar experience? Were you always into Drake or did you get into Drake later like I did?

I hated drake when I was younger :russ:if you were caught bumping shyt like Shot For Me, Marvin's room, etc. you would've been looked at funny. They were right, those songs sucked and aren't hip hop in the slightest.

It wasn't until SFTB came out that I started liking him, 0-100 was another good move, then that run from IYRTITL to WATTBA was glorious :wow:I went to having some of his songs in my playlist as guilty pleasure and now he's one of my favorite rappers along with rocky

in hindsight though, so far gone was a good project. Successful has to be like a top 10 drake song.
