Drake really is the only mainstream rapper to never drop a classic![]()
No I'm not... and I don't need to ask real people, real people all say its mediocre. And some of the people that worked on this album told me not long ago they weren't proud of the work they done on that mediocre album.
Lol at trying to rewrite history.
What would make it classic? is it good? objectively it isn't...it wasn't even critically acclaimed.
If an album is a classic only because MASTAMIMD likes it or because it was popular, then I'm afraid we have like 1500 classics in the 2020s alone.
Don't entertain that bozo bot.I’d say So Far Gone a classic but its a mixtape
Take Care = Weeknd album
IYRTITL = Quentin Miller Album

Based on what doe?

I get that Take Care was NOT considered a classic at the time, which is why the discourse was predominantly that Kendrick got the first classic amongst his peers (Drake, Cole). But at this point the influence, overall quality of the album, hits etc make it hard to deny it's a classic. That's just me though. I'd imagine a lot of people feel the same way though.
Dapped but nah.
Kendrick won. 7th round knockout, bring in the paramedics because this other nikka is face-down, Harlem shaking.
But SFG, Take Care, IYRTITL, NWTS, and Her Loss (the latter imo) are CLASSICKS. I hate Views, I think More Life is mid… but there are folks who argue those are classics too. Drake might be the most inconsistent superstar since jay (for all the nas slander, Hov has always been more inconsistent imo…). But I would also argue he has as many, or more, classics (reasonable doubt, vol2, blueprint, American gangster, and 4:44… even tho I don’t agree with last one). He just might also be the easiest superstar to dislike in hip hop history. its him and vanilla and ice honestly.
I'll never understand people comparing Drake's catalog to actual rappers.
How does Drake vs Jay make sense when 50+ % of Drake's catalog is R&B/pseudo-R&B crooning?
His biggest song, "One Dance", is not even rap. Most of his top 10 highest streamed songs, is his singing sh*t. "Hotline Bling", etc.
Jay has only ever rapped. First album? Rap. Last album? Rap. Biggest song? Rap.
I do not understand the logic behind "Drake is the biggest/best/rapper" or "let's compare him to the all time great rappers" when everyone he's being compared to is actually rapping on every project, and he isn't.
And I've seen the argument "well, that just proves he's more diverse"....ok cool, but being a great R&B/pop artist is completely unrelated to being a great rapper.
Fred.
Facts and I think this is 1 of the big reasons he gets so much hate, cause his fans try to crown him as 1 of the greatest amongst actual rappers.I'll never understand people comparing Drake's catalog to actual rappers.

And he isn't even good as an rnb artist eitherFacts and I think this is 1 of the big reasons he gets so much hate, cause his fans try to crown him as 1 of the greatest amongst actual rappers.

Calling him R&B is a disrespect to actual legends of the genre. And he isn't even good as an rnb artist either![]()
