Drake is 38. Kendrick will be 38 in 6 months. Is this bad for rap?

I feel like the stars of every part of entertainment are older people now.

Nobody has replaced denzel and samuel l jackson as the go to black actors

Nobody has replaced brad pitt and leo as the go to white guys

Tom cruise is doing a mission impossible in his 60s

Lebron is the face of the nba at 40
We also have near centenarians running our politics too smh :unimpressed:

I think Tyler's solidified his spot, he's just alternative.

Lil baby and gunna falling out stunted baby who probably would be one.

Youngboy not having even some semblance of sense halted his trajectory.
Lil Baby was never seriously going to be the one nikkas was lying to themselves

Youngboy fukked up true but even then it's wild that he's been hot for almost a decade

In the Internet age, careers don't have to be rushed like they used to. Cause at the same time this is also the easiest time to actually become an mc or rapper due to the insane overhead and the double upside of self-production
There is a huuuuugggee difference between an mc and rapper. That's where a lot of confusion comes from

What does it say that the two biggest artists are essentially less than 2 years away from turning 40 and the biggest artists in Rap music?

Is this unusual or is it normally around this age that artists peak or reach their biggest draws?

It just feels to me that artists tended to shine a little earlier. BUT…rappers are releasing albums now into their 40s and seeing success.

Is this a refusal of the OGs from stepping aside or is the game different for everyone regardless and everyone should just get in where they fit in?
If you got talent..you'll hang around. Master P and Nelly didn't last after a hot run. 50 didn't stay hot. Drake is loved by a very weak generation and he has no classics at all.

This is not true

XXX really had next. Juice too. Keep in mind both have been dead for over five years and are still among the highest streamed artists in music. Juice just got added to Fortnite:mjlol:

Pop Smoke was in the beginning of a serious run
Uzi was bigger than all of them

look at him now

Pop Smoke was the biggest thing NY had until Ice Spice and Sexy Drill/Cash Cobain. AND THAT IS A FACT.

This is what happens when you base your entire perspective on what's relevant in Hip-Hop based on the commercial factors of what are largely nothing more than products with promotional budgets, actively within their promo cycle - less than a fraction of a percent of the population is perceptive enough to discern the difference
