A few things about your post that I'd like to bring light to:

1)Credits You said there are "Dozens of songs with no co writers" This is meaningless when we are talking about the music industry. (Pay attention to this) Do you know the most famous musical contributions are NEVER properly credited as writers? It's a game of smoke n mirrors when it comes to credits. (More in a moment why that is important) One last thing, over 90 percent of the bands coming out in the sixties didn't record in the studio, they were unable to meet the timeline, They hired what is known as "FIXERS"

If we were to take a look at Drake lp credits, you would see exactly what you are referring to. "Wow, look at all the songs written by this artist" Except in the age of pop, Drake can afford what is commonly known as "Fixers" listed on all of his *talked about* records. It looks suspicious. You can't just call yourself a ghostwriter to the public because you can get in legal mess if you speak out & say "I wrote this song" Drake has a loooooot of Fixers. Not because he can't write a average song, it is just the fact he isn't able to risk his career of hits for a chance that he might be able to have the luck to do that.

The album credit business goes like this "Hey Gary Ghost, i need you to *work* on these songs for me" Gary Ghost goes to work on the song, the artist is ecstatic w/ the *work* but there is an agreement. Gary Ghost WILL get the credit for a certain amount of songs but he has agreed to forfeit ALL public credits on chosen songs for various political or personal reasons: insecurity,ego,deceptive marketing. But the songwriter STILL gets royalties & publishing, it just isn't in ASCAP/BMI registry. Consider it a trade off for future work & most writers agree to this. Because Perception is the most important above all. Truth is irrelevant, it gets in the way of creating "narrative" That's important on the next point.

2)Evasion- When you get caught in a series of *fumbles* & you don't want to explain how much of the work is actually yours. Just evade, don't answer the question, accuse everyone around you of being bitter or jealous or being poor & make memes about it. It's straight out of the playbook,ISO. Word for Word, line for line, this is what happens. Ovo couldn't respond to the allegations directly because they had a gang of writers UNCREDITED on the projects, you can take that straight to the bank.

3) Distract-

Create another distraction & pretend like it didn't happen. This is exactly what Drake & his team have done. Get people talking about something ELSE. Pretend it doesn't phase you. But let me break something to the everyone listening,
If it didn't phase you, you wouldn't be obsessing over people who don't think you are credible or honest when it comes to your character & taking subtle mentions every time you have a hip hop tempo. But at the same time he doesn't dare name anyone who is causing him all this "turmoil"

I think it is perfectly fine to challenge assertions where it concerns writing credits. If you are going to claim to be the best, you should have the receipts. And if you don't. as an artist you should be quiet and just entertain for the audience. instead of claiming to be "messiah with the pen" I think that's where you & others have fallen short in defending Drake. The minute Drake claims he is "Chosen One" of Hip hop & no one can go for him line for line. I'm not saying Drake isn't talented, I'm not saying Drake isn't a celeb phenom icon, i'm not saying Drake isn't a inspiration to others. What I'm saying is, the probability he has been given full songs & changed little.

The credits are a lark, it would also explain why Drake shifts his vocal cadence, he is miming the track which he was given of the various rappers he gets sent tracks. That's one of the main components of Drake being a success. He would be a brilliant A&R. But this shyt about him one of the best lyricists, this needs to stop. That's why part of the culture pumped the brakes on Drake.

It would be like Spielberg saying he was untouchable & no one can only to find out that Steve the crafty Sandwich Runner directed "E.T." & Spielberg stamped his name on it.

Excellent post! As a fan of Drake's work, I do think the above points have their merits, and his career, when it's all done and dusted, will and should display an asterisk.

My only reservation is this analogy of the sandwich runner directing the movie. (Part of the) Lyrics are simply one facet of a song - there are so many dynamics that shouldn't be disregarded simply because he didn't write one or two lyrics here or there. In your movie analogy, the direction of one scene is what was copied and given to Spielberg - the cinematography, the production, visuals, sound, all are accountable to Drake.
