People have literally been saying this every fukking year for 3 decades now. Some variation of the previous class is better than this current one with the down fall of Hip Hop or some kind of major L looming in the horizon....

When NWA came out, they ruined the golden era. "Good" music will never sell unless everyone is having their gang jump and shoot each other in every song

Then when Puffy came out...."good" music will never sell unless everyone is riding around in speed boats with coogi shirts and cristal bottles....

Then Crunk/Southern music came, "good" music would never sell again unless it had a stanky leg dance....Nas said 'Hip Hop Is Dead' and the online communities followed.....

Then auto tune came, it was the death of actual singers and people raping. It removed the voice in Hip Hop and made it sound generic, "good" music will never sell again unless everyone sounds like a robot. Hip Hop was finished......

No one saw Kendrick coming originally, people were still busy bytching about Hip Hop and doing what? Acting like new artists won't emerge that are quality artists and the current artists they like now couldn't possibly be replaced....

But every single fukking time, it happens.
