The new album isnt on iTunes?

It is, though it was free.

"In his home country of the United States, Coloring Book debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200, with 38,000 equivalent album units.[20] The mixtape has generated 57.3 million streams in the first week, making it the first release to chart on the Billboard 200, solely from the streams."

We don't know really how well Chance would sell. Surf was downloaded on Itunes 600,000 times in its first week last year, before Apple moved to a streaming service. Really hard to gauge how popular Chance is, but he's got a very dedicated fan base and is a celebrity in Chicago.

Who passed the torch to Tiller?

Do you categorize him as a rapper completely? I really don't, but if you do ...

... it looks like the Top Tier category is essentially

- Back to Back Platinum albums (to show it's not a one hit/album wonder)
- A World Tour (broad audience)
- Default Nominations in all the award shows (e.g. whenever they release something, it's always nominated, aka everyone recognizes they're a name in the game)

Once he hits that, then he's definitively top tier and did it without a co-sign. If so, he'd be the first to do that that since Cash Money?

He doesn't have platinum albums, much less consecutive ones?

I think he falls into the category of popular rapper, but not top tier. If he has a big crossover single, people will pay attention. But people don't check for his albums like that if he doesn't have a monster lead/crossover/pop single.

Thought you were asking about rappers that hit the most popular echelon of rap without a co-sign. Wiz is the most notable recent example.

Nah I don't consider him a rapper completely but he's borderline. I just throw his name in the ring when platinum talk comes up
