Hit singles and sales don't make an album classic or impactful on the culture. Below The heavens is a classic to many and it didn't sell that much or even go platinum once.

Nice try though Buddy!
Means a whole lot more than hiphop forum opinions
After all it is factually based, not emotionally or opinion based.
I never heard of below the heavens, what's that?
anyone can call an album they like "classic" but what is it backed by.
That's what i look at.

Take Care is influential as fukk to the current gen and had a lot of longevity. People still listen to it

It's considered a classic now by most people so a debate is kind of pointless

I make sure that north side eats :wow:

I'm hoping the new one out does his last 2. I want a new Drake project that legitimently can be argued to be his best.

EDIT: Gods Plan better be on here

By most. Not up for debate.
For the sake of a more objective perspective look at these threads from other forums
Do you guys consider Take Care a classic album? | Genius
Take Care Classic? | Genius

Using a Classic Album Rubric to Prove Why Drake’s ‘Take Care’ Isn’t a Classic—Yet

Why Doesn't Drake Have A Classic Album After Nearly 10 Years In The Game???

You will see more No's then Yes's in these threads and some even saying in the future it may become one or that it's an RnB classic cause the album is super Rnb lol :russ:

Not really, that's debatable imo. It was a great album but I can't call it a classic because it wasn't impactful enough and The Weekends contributions are what really helped make it what it was.
It was impactful and Weeknd’s contribution don’t make take away from the album lol what kinda logic is that?

He had what 4 songs? The album is 20 tracks

I don't think so, the weeknds aspects added to the pot were what was impactful. That's like saying So Far Gone was impactful when really that's Kanye and Cudi influence and truthfully So Far Gone is Drake's classic but it's not an album, it's a mixtape.

The logic behind it is that without The Weeknd the album is not what it is and with the weeknd it still falls short. If we are going to call it a classic we have to give the weeknd credit as well. He didn't just have 4 songs on the album but had 4 of arguable the best songs on the album and is said to have given Drake half his album he was working on. Even on the songs he is not on and he didn't work on he still had his influence on them clearly imo.

Imagine Nas's Illmatic and Jay-Z giving him Four songs that made the album. Imagine Biggie's Life After Death and Craig mack giving him songs with his flavor to make the album what it is. Think about it. It's a great album I admit but even take away The Weeknd playing a role and just look at it for what it is, listen to it top to bottom and it still falls short. shyt is too Rnb to call a hiphop album is one argument I feel is valid but even take that out of it the shyt still feels like it's missing something. Maybe if Drake and The Weeknd stayed cool and Weeknd joined the OVO sweatshop and they did one more album the second one would be a real classic.

So Far Gone had its own influence. Y’all nikkas just don’t wanna give Aubrey and his team any credit.

So what? You can give Weeknd credit. Everyone who worked on the album gets credit for making it what it is. Everybody did they thing in making the album one of the era defining ones of the decade. Andre’s verse on Real Her, Stevie Wonder playing harmonica at the end of Doing It Wrong, Kendrick’s interlude, Drake’s grandmother voicemail on Look What You’ve Done. Whole album was just well crafted. R&B, hip-hop whatever you wanna call it, it’s classic music.
