For the sake of a more objective perspective look at these threads from other forums
Do you guys consider Take Care a classic album? | Genius

Using a Classic Album Rubric to Prove Why Drake’s ‘Take Care’ Isn’t a Classic—Yet

Why Doesn't Drake Have A Classic Album After Nearly 10 Years In The Game???

You will see more No's then Yes's in these threads and some even saying in the future it may become one or that it's an RnB classic cause the album is super Rnb lol :russ:

So Far Gone had its own influence. Y’all nikkas just don’t wanna give Aubrey and his team any credit.

So what? You can give Weeknd credit. Everyone who worked on the album gets credit for making it what it is. Everybody did they thing in making the album one of the era defining ones of the decade. Andre’s verse on Real Her, Stevie Wonder playing harmonica at the end of Doing It Wrong, Kendrick’s interlude, Drake’s grandmother voicemail on Look What You’ve Done. Whole album was just well crafted. R&B, hip-hop whatever you wanna call it, it’s classic music.
So Far Gone was a big bite of what Cudi and Ye was doing and even 40 said Kanye was mad about it.

40's statements are also kind of funny on the matter when you examine them,

In 2014 he told XXL
"I wasn’t listening to 808s & Heartbreak when I was making So Far Gone. I was listening to Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks and The Smiths and stuff like that."

In 2010 he said to Vibe

"‘Ye cussed me out one day about jacking his sound. “40, I don’t think you should be in the studio right now because you might just hear my new shyt and subconsciously steal my new shyt and it wouldn’t even be your fault.” I can’t even be mad at him because the last CD I listened to was 808s & Heartbreak before I started doing So Far Gone. I swear to God I haven’t listened to a CD since Erykah Badu’s new album."

It is what it is but there was biting going on for sure. Only thing I look at as imapctful about So Far Gone was the mixtape as an original project sort of deal and not just rapping over other people's beats for an entire project.

As for all those people getting Credit fair enough but the Weeknd said he gave up half his album to it and his influence is where the impact lies. That album rode off the Weeknd's wave but put that to the side I still can't call it classic. Drake fans call it a classic but I'm one of those who feel something about it falls short. A song like Headlines for instance is corny when you look back at it but it still is not a classic to me though I want it to be because it's really good. Don't take this the wrong way because I like that album but I can't call it classic for some reason. I would be lying if I told you I agree and I'm not the only one who feels this way about it either.

Never heard anyone say So Far Gone sounded like 808s.
That Toronto sound is too distinct and Drake was rapping or trying to sing like Trey Songz, Kanye singing through a box. Have you forgot how that shyt sounded?

He even had a 808s beat on there and Drake sounded nothing like Kanye on it.

And with Toronto sound I mean

And how exactly did he copy Cudi:dahell:

A Kid named Cudi was one of my most played tapes of that era and that shyt sounds nothing at all like anything Drake has done, lyrically, sonically, beat-wise, flow-wise or anything else.

Breh, this might be the 1st new physical CD I cop in a long time. I'm a hip hop head from way back. I don't give a fukk about who wrote what when it comes to Drake. I still think he writes a lot of his stuff anyway

As long as he was writing shyt on them first mixtapes I don’t care personally :yeshrug:

His pen game is certified in my book

Wow the Toronto crowd really didn’t give a fukk about drake :whoo: that’s a first. Too bad it’s his city and I doubt anyone would wanna take that from him at this point :mjlol:.

Toronto is all yours Drake. Well it’s been yours.
