Damn him and Cassius Stanley did not hit like I thought they would, jr smith/ Gerald green was my ceiling floor for them, I feel like a lot of sierra canyon players have had quite the mid careers

Sierra Canyon reality distortion field had people looking at them like they were legit. Even D Wade’s son was kinda tolerate and we all see the stimmy Bronny got and we KNOW he’s not at Cassius or event Emoni’s level. Bronny is the angel version of Mikey.

Starting around 5 min mark Jeff Teague talks about the downsides of guys going to prep schools. Basically they don’t face adversity until they reach the league because they’re always on stacked teams. They also don’t get a chance to fully develop their games.

Bronny was/is the true end because you started to see how ridiculous it all became with these IG/YouTube hoopers where all the focus is on who is coming to their games.

But not much about these players made you said “wow some great talent came out of that program” because it’s not like we’re talking about LaMelo or even Zion who played for budget ass HS teams and still found a way to make it work.

I think that when it comes down to it, seems like the best players have a healthy balance of having teams they steam roll, and then playing consistently against other good guys that give them a challenge. In the nba, it's 12-13 guys doing everything the best 3 players or best player needs for them to win, so in hs when they're the best on a team full of roll players (at least with that player) it translates to the highest level. But these days that could put you at risk if less recognition, vs a prep team that can advertise 5 nikkas with lottery aspirations, but it don't transfer well to the nba because most teams don't have 5 guys they can rely on for all star output
