Its hypocrisy, who cares though, as long as the music is good I'm going to enjoy it, I'd never call any of them all time great lyricists but I'll definitely put some of their albums in my all time

1.) No one EVER considered Dre to be a dope rapper. He was ALWAYS regarded as a great producer
2.) Eazy is definitely a pioneer...but was NEVER seen as a dope lyricist. Doesn't mean he wasn't an icon
3.) ODB, though loved by the entire hip hop world, was never seen as a top tier lyricist. he wasn't even seen as the best lyricist in the group
4.) Those claims came out to be false from M-1 and Jay Electronica. Unless you wholeheartedly believe the words of a well known jigga stan (in which case I'm sure you do cuz it'll help your claim or whatever point you trying to make)
5.) Referring back to the points 1-3. None of those artists ever paraded their pen game around, or claimed to be the BEST MC.

He was in 2009-2010, where rappers grind and slave to get. Stadium performer after just a year. Even someone like Kanye who had #1 singles after number one singles, wasn't stadium status until sometime after 808s.

Even Jay wasn't stadium status until like 8 years.

I am going to say this an I know people are not going to like it.

Even if Drake bought his way into the game who cares at this point.Its 2016 and if fans didn't care about him writing shyt they are not going to care about this. He has a fan base he broke a lot of records helped shaped a new sound. At the end of all of this he is going to have a page in history. Do I like that a lot of rules I grew up on are broken no. But those are the facts .

It felt so fukking natural though. It's like you found yourself rooting for him at the time. Maybe it was because he came off so humble and people like him (suburbs, jewish, soft) don't ever really make it, so you said to yourself "man at the end of the day, as long as he respects it. And he's putting his all, I can't hate". Plus he used to label himself as a backpacker. Into a lot of the underground shyt. Looked like he knew his history.

In hindsight though. All that shyt was marketing. I should have questioned why son was doing interviews on ABC off of a fukking mixtape in 2009. Closing out the BET awards in 2009.
