What I'm saying and what we ALL know is that as much as a multimillionaire rapper can be "hood" certified Jay-Z is. It's been documented that he put in work (whether or not he was as "large" as he makes himself out to be makes no difference as even his enemies will at least attest to him being part of that world) so I fail to see how that would even part of the discussion as it relates to a 40 year old man whose been there, done that, and left it behind. His art references (corny as they may be) are a reflection of who he is currently.
