He does it a lot and most of the time its not effective. I don't even hear a lot of new rappers doing it either so I wouldn't even say he popularized it.

modern day wise i actully think it was JTs 2020 album that had a ton of influence on hip hop beat swtich wise

No he didn't you jackass, he just did something that was popular when he was a child. Nevermind that he's directly inspired by Three-Six, before someone wants to b-b-b-but about popularity, Timbaland basically made this a motif in his mainstream singles.




And Drake made it popular again
