i agree for the most part.... but I listened to his first album drunk last summer and it wasnt bad, I just knew he didnt have much say in making it. I knew the first album would be alright compared to the rest ..... MY DUDE- have you noticed with these newschool cats too, that they cant name songs for shyt??? there should be a thread on that. Like these rappers cant even rap, and when its time to name a song.. they dont know what to call it, cause they dont even know what they are doing. Naming shyt like "Easter Pink" "Hamburger Helper" "Discovery Zone" :mjlol:

:russ:

It's like when I ask them to name their top 3 tracks from an artist, and they get real quiet, deflect or just name tracks at random. They think I'm attacking them when in fact I'm just trying to be more informed about what they like and why. Maybe I'll be put onto that random track that happens to be fire.

Music aint that deep for most new school cats.

Who has ever said this? :stopitslime::comeon:

"last name ever, first name greatest" and the Sprite ads got a lot of Drake haters in their feelings

Many people have. This is the entire reason why it's a big deal and it blew up the way it did. If it were such a commonplace thing for a rapper of a higher caliber to have folks writing his raps for him, do you think the Meek situation would've gotten to place that it is? :usure: No, it wouldn't have. We would've shrugged it off and went about our business.

However, it's January 2016 and the topic is still as hot as ever. :manny: So obviously it matters. Drake certainly thinks so, otherwise he would've never dignified the shyt with a response. Instead, he shot twice consecutively.

Nothing wrong with enjoying the man's body of work, but I don't see why it's completely unreasonable for some people to feel turned off if they feel he's not the one that's behind the pencil.

It's not a hot topic. It's just a bunch of bytch ass haters reaching and driving the conversation at this point. You don't have to look any further than this thread. It's sad, really. Seeing such behavior, especially from men.

Many took a few reference tracks for illegitimate songs and tried to use that to invalidate the whole dude's career and say he didn't write any of his shyt. If I were him, I would have responded as well. And I would also look to destroy the career of the person who tried to ruin me.

Drake hasn't taken a hit because no one (who isn't a hater) honestly believes that he doesn't write most of his shyt.

Many people simply think that Drake is an overnight success but he had put in a lot of work before he finally blew up in 09/10. He has built a lot of trust with a lot of people and he has yet to break it.

Like, I've said, show me evidence that he didn't write "The Calm", "Club Paradise" "Fear", "Too Much", "Look What You've Done", "Say What's Real" etc and we'll talk.

This is a hip hop forum, Drake is the Shang Tsung of rap to hip hop fans (something Drake nuggers don't seem to be), so it's not outlandish that there's a lot of animosity towards the Tent God.
