No one is saying that you can't like those things. I'm just telling you that I don't think any of those things were good. You got mad and tried to defend the lack of subject matter and lyrical ability and saying the shyt doesn't matter.
Lack of subject matter? What does that mean

I except Drake to go in the booth and be Drake and I listen for Drake to be Drake.

Is that really a criticism

I told you I don't care about lyrical ability and never have.

Precisely. They want Kendrick being a pseudo-revolutionary to make them feel better.

This shyt is wild to me

The bar for dude always gets raised to some ridiculous heights

Because it's unfounded and poorly sourced.

Drake put his foot in this album.

And it's better than NWTS

The songs are great. The lyrics are personal. The vibes are evolved.

There's nothing to hate on here. Dudes want some sort of lyrical miracle shyt need to go bump Royce or something.

Drake is making music. Y'all out here amping up weak efforts from mediocre rappers instead of ingesting actual sonic progression.
Sonic progression :pachaha:

90s rnb sample, a lowpass, and some soft drums. Hu gais can you guess who I am?

Do you realize how insane you sound :mindblown:

There have been countless people in this thread who said that they are Drake fans and have loved his previous albums, but just aren't feeling this one.

You're basically saying that everyone has to like the album. You are unable to be objective.
I got nwts as a light 8 and tc as a 7 which if it was 10-12 tracks would have been like a 9. This shyt is just weak all around tho

Pretty damn much. If he would have made a movie of some short for all the songs on the album on some Beyonce shyt it probably would have made it better..but I doubt it.

Been listening to the album since it was released and my feelings for it has been :ehh:. It's not good or bad just ehh. I mean it's cool, but it's the same ole shyt. Same ole Aubrey whining about the same ole bytches who broke his heart, the same ole fake friends in his life and the same ole fame that he has to deal with.

This album really could have been THE album that certified Aubrey as the KING of the new school of rappers. Instead he took the safe route and did the same ole shyt. Simp anthems mixed in with catchy singles. No growth at ALL.

The album was going to sell a millie first week regardless, but he could have really took the opportunity to step out of his comfort zone and make an album that is undeniable.

And if he wanted to do that, he should have legit took his TIME with this one. Which means he shouldn't have dropped If You're Reading This Its Too Late. Which means he shouldn't have dropped all those album quaiilty loosies for the past few years. Which also means he shouldn't have made that unnesscary album with Future.

He should have held on to a majority of those tracks. He should have sat back and took his sweet time making this album to perfection. If that meant he had to disappear for year or too and only show up once in a blue moon with his hair all nappy and beard all grown out cuz he's locked himself (and those writers :troll:) in the studio to make a classic album then that's what he had to do.

Instead he took the safe route and did the same ole shyt. He stuck with what he knows.

Sure he is going to have a future number 1 hit with One Dance. Sure he is gonna have the clubs on lock with them catchy ass singles like Pop Style. But by the end of the year those are going to die out and folks are gonna look at Aubrey like "Sooooo you gonna give us that classic timeless album or what? :usure:"

It's a damn shame too cuz I really thought Drake would have dropped that undeniable classic by now. But it seems like the closest he got album wise was Take Care. But even that fall short of it :ld:

His only classic is from a mixtape...and that's a damn shame...
He could have at least mixed the rapping and singing for fans that want to hear bars. So many slow ass ballads body bagged this album. Never seen an anticipated album be so forgettable.

what?????

No

I calling you all out on the consistent flip flop.

Y'all stay coming around to drake albums

idk who "you all" is. i genuinely fuc with most of his albums on my accord. the ones i dont fukk with i dont fukk with. if i dont fukk with em down the road then oh well. to this day i dont rate NWTS as high as some of yall but thats the great thing bout music; nikkas aint got to like everything. i can listen to and appreciate everyone's reasoning for liking NWTS and take it into consideration but if i still dont fukk with it then i dont. why is their opinion less valid if they dont immediate like the album or like it down the road? it sounds like you're trying to dictate how people should receive the album

Your reasons for enjoying this joint are just as unfounded and unsourced. People have opinions and for whatever reason your opinion holds more ground than the next.

I'm :dead: at people playing the "who cares about white publications?" card when Drake dikk riders were quoting this broad
sUcAXDX_zpsy9vjwkt0.png
so much in defense of Drake last summer she became on unofficial smiley. I told you months ago that would blow up in your face, and now here we are.

And stop listening to this hunk of shyt record 40 times in a row, and brainwashing yourself to fit in. It's ok to not like something popular.

who gives a fukk about fans?

This is what i'm talking about...what about what YOU think?
Isn't that what people normally say and the first thing stans say is how big that album is in the clubs or something like that? Or how people are out of touch?

This is a rare case where an album isn't doing well critically, and people aren't feeling it either.

I gave the album a 5/10. If that.

Very few standout tracks and it feels like he put the album together by setting iTunes to "shuffle".

It's just not a good project.

Subject matter... variety...

And I've told you already, if you don't like lyrical ability then cool. And I also told you that I'm that kinda person either. I just like for artist to cover some of everything. Not talk about the same ol shyt over and over and over...

But my problem is you actually took some sort of offense when everyone started saying that the album is bland and he's talking about the same ol shyt. You tried to laugh it off like it was nothing. And it may not mean anything to you but it obviously means something to people criticizing that area of the album and you out here getting really defensive that people care about that shyt.

I didn't take offense to anything

I said something about people posting reviews, claiming it should be shortened and I can't remember

Subject matter variety? :mjlol: every rapper has their pockets of things they are most comfortable making music about

If I wanted different subject matter I would listen to a different artist. This is such a silly criticism

I listen to Drake for Reelationship songs and brag raps and emo introspective shyt

you need to explain this subject matter thing. I don't understand
